I agree too. It would be nice to have this flexibility.

Thanks for the quick response! Is something like this possible as a feature in future versions of Zotero?

The applet "autoclicker.exe" is another useful resource in this situation, at least for Windows 10. (It does exactly what the name implies.)

An update, almost a year after the above: version 2.0.3 works well with Zotero standalone 5.0.72. I further note that after one "prove you're not a robot" Captcha event, I was able to update 90 items at a time without further Captcha triggering.

Thanks. It's the work PC where it's hanging, and I just got home, so I'll do it tomorrow. I'll let you know if there's more trouble.

For completeness, the steps to reproduce: 1. Click "sync" at top right. Wait several hours. 2. Click "stop sync" at top right. Wait overnight.

Ahh .. it was yesterday. I don't remember the exact error message, sorry. I'll post again if I do recall it.

I have been trying to do the exact same thing as @hbraum. A couple of notes for others who may be doing likewise: - I found that running "Attachment File Type -- is --- PDF" against a saved search didn't work. (i.e. "Collection -- is -- Name_of_my…

Thanks @dstillman. I will leave off installing the beta until I am about to begin the FT searches, inasmuch as it is a beta and hopefully that will allow time for further development. I will also repeat the FT search and post a Debug ID.

Trying to save the PDF from the abstract page, I still get an error (or three): "An error occurred saving with ScienceDirect. Attempting to save using Embedded Metadata instead. An error occurred saving with Embedded Metadata. Attempting to save us…

Sorry, I should've been more comprehensive. Using "Save to Zotero" when I have clicked though to the PDF does work with EBSCO, though it also results in an error message: "An error occurred while saving this item. Try again, and if the issue persist…

I'm having a similar problem with PsycINFO (EBSCO) PDF downloads. Even when I am logged into PsycINFO, with the page for the relevant journal article open, right-clicking and selecting "Find available PDF" gives "No PDF found".

Thanks bwiernik. A quick 'n dirty paste is below. Also remember (anyone else reading this): add "ER- " on the very last line of the TXT file. …

Done! That is, with software, not manually - important when you're reformatting more than a thousand references .. I recorded a Notepad++ macro. I can't attach files to posts, and I can't post it here, it seems because it's in XML (? mods?). But i…

NB when I'm done with this I'll put the tool/s on Github with some notes. Might help others with similar problems.
-
Thanks bwiernik. I tried that and it works nicely; when I export it from Zotero to CSV it shows up in the 'Manual tags' field. (NB this is more for others who may look up this thread in future than for you!). On to regex now.

By filtering I mean eliminating articles based on set criteria. (I'm doing a systematic review.) The filter in view here is one which only allows studies which use certain psychometric tests, hence my interest in the Tests & Measures field. I'…

You're not a PhD student by any chance are you?? ;-) Work-in-progress report .. I have managed to manually alter a (single) reference so that it successfully imports as RIS, with the Tests and Measures importing as Notes. (So @adamsmith the renami…

Emiliano -- thanks!! That script does look almost _suspiciously_ specific to my needs! :-)

Thanks for your help. I'll start by making a TXT file with ~10 references and manually changing it (specifiying type as JOUR and renaming TM to N1), as a test run. If I can get that working, and if having the Tests & Measures info in a Note work…

Hi again, I have replicated the error. It happens when the apps are organised across the two screens as follows: Zotero - 1st screen OR 2nd screen Chrome (with Google Scholar open) - 2nd screen Word, in case that makes a difference - 1st screen OR …

Sorry dstillman, I managed to miss the email alerts that there were new posts .. also I didn't know you were a dev! :-) I don't have access to a second screen now, but I will on Tuesday so I'll post again then re your questions. However, using my l…

dstillman, if you have the Zotero Connector browser extension installed, and you are on, say, Google Scholar with a page of 10 search hits, you click on the Zotero Connector icon (aka Save to Zotero). This brings up a dialogue box with the 10 result…

It's Windows 10 (Pro). The screens are different resolutions: the laptop is 3000 x 2000 while the second screen is 1920 x 1080. So they are not even the same aspect ratio.
