See https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/95445/word-integration-fails-after-update-plugin This is generally a Word issue and googling it finds similar answers like https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/word-cannot-open-this-documen…

For what it's worth Office updates since 2010 have not changed any core Word functionality. Mostly interface changes and some esoteric stuff, but nothing dramatic for everyday writing. We have Zotero users that seem to get by fine with Office 2003 (…

I keep receiving an error message saying "macOS Upgrade Required" for macOS 11.4 and over. I have already updated macOS (to 11.6). For this can you go into Tools -> Developer -> Run JavaScript, run this script and report the results back here?…

Thanks, we've been looking for a while for a way to reproduce this consistently. It's not super high priority but we'll look into solving it in the intermediate future.
-
Please provide the full version number of Word (found under File, About Word) and describe in your own words how you reproduce the problem in a new document. If you can create a minimal document where the issue can be reproduced please send it to su…

@reneeohikuare If I remove and reinsert the bibliography in your document with Zotero 6.0.4 it looks correct. What version of Zotero are you using? Could you submit a Report ID?
-
The debug log you submitted shows a citation update that is done from a cold-start of Zotero (the first insert into a document after Zotero restart will always be slightly slower) in a document with 200 citations take 3 seconds. If you can produce a…

Usually removing the section of the text that is duplicating itself and reinserting it solves the problem.

No, do not disable automatic Zotero updates as you won't get bugfixes and security patches in the future. We rarely update the Word plugin, so Zotero updates won't remove Zotero.dot for you and if they ever do, you can always just put this file back…
-
Yes, Office 2003 support has been discontinued for a while. You can download the .dot template here https://github.com/zotero/zotero-word-for-windows-integration/raw/94d3b8ec200718064aa95723860135e8ce63c78e/install/Zotero.dot but we don't guarantee …

You have to describe in detail what you have done and what happened, otherwise we cannot help you. Did you install x64 version of LibreOffice and Java? Did you select the x64 JRE in LibreOffice preferences? What happened then?
-
Zotero starts an "Undo Transaction" that it finishes after you finalize inserting a citation. The undo transaction sometimes may fail to be ended by Zotero e.g. if Zotero crashes mid-transaction or an insertion error occurs, but it's good for the mo…

Also, could you install the Zotero Beta, run it, right click columns to display the column picker and then submit another Report ID?
-
I'm not sure what you're saying. Could you describe it in more detail?
-
Yes. We're looking for a fix and hopefully will have something soon.
-
Restart your computer and try again. Then explain step-by-step what you're doing, what happens and what you expect to happen.
-
We've seen brave browser break Zotero Connector before and you have other extensions that affect Google Docs installed. You should try using the Zotero Connector in a fresh Brave profile and otherwise try reporting this to Brave support.
-
Can you right click the columns to open the column picker menu then submit a Report ID?
-
Which browser are you using? Could you submit a Report ID from the Zotero Connector?
-
Can you reproduce this in a new document and with a minimal note? Can you export that note to Zotero RDF, upload it somewhere and post the link to it here?
-
Just to let you know we're looking for a way to fix this, but it's not an easy issue to address so won't happen immediately.
-
@willemchy Could you go into Tools -> Developer -> Run Javascript, paste ZoteroPane.itemsView.getColumns() in there, press Run and paste the output on www.pastebin.com and post the link to the past here?
-
You have tracked changes in the document that are not accepted/rejected. That's causing the issue. Go into Word Review tab and make sure all changes are accepted or rejected.
-
Try disabling other extensions temporarily and restarting the browser.
-
It may be worth updating Word to the latest version. Otherwise, can you reproduce this in a new document, or produce a small snippet document that shows this problem? If so please send it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
-
Just to confirm, you should be opening the Zotero.dotm file from the Zotero installation location, not from your Word startup folder. If you tried to manually install the Zotero.dotm file, are you sure you moved the file from Zotero installation loc…

What's the full version number of Microsoft Word that you are using?
-
If you open Zotero.dotm manually do you see an "Add Note" button? If so, are you sure you are correctly placing it in Word's startup folder? If not, did you completely remove and reinstall Zotero by downloading it from zotero.org/download ?
-
Do you see an "Add Note" button in Word? If not, the plugin is not installing correctly. It might be worth it to reinstall Zotero completely and then retry reinstalling the Word plugin.
