I've tried running your previous posts through google translate, but couldn't quite figure out what the exact problem was. The Beta introduced a huge number of changes to the word plugin code and likely introduced bugs too. However, since it is like…

Debug ID would definitely be useful. If Zotero is logging something constantly, some 10 seconds of output should be enough. If it is not, could you check in Activity Monitor which application is taking up all that CPU time? Does CPU usage stay max…

The issue you posted on initially was not related to what you are seeing, but the current Beta does include an improvement for citation insertion speed. You should back up your paper if you are going to try the Beta features.
-
You don't event have to wait for attachment names to show up. The Connector sends the initial query to Zotero with all information for the item and its attachments first. Since preferences in Zotero on what kinds of attachments should be saved can a…

Unfortunately there is not, but we've been seeing the same kind of problem on both Chrome and Firefox, so a fix for Firefox will likely work for Chrome. We just need help testing whether it actually works.
-
Is the latest attempted fix at least relatively more stable than what we push with updates right now? I assume what we push now leads to crashing nearly every time you attempt to add/edit a citation? Is this any better?

It might be worth switching the Windows Zotero client to a different data directory (in Preferences -> Advanced) temporarily and seeing whether you can at least open Document Preferences then.

Your Debug ID contains [JavaScript Error: "JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/schema.js" line: 752}] Which indicates something being wrong with the library database. Although…

Could you produce one directly after restarting Zotero?

Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero? 1. In the Help menu, go to Debug Output Logging and select Enable. 2. Click Add/Edit Citation in Zotero plugin in Word. 3. Before doing anything else, return to Help → Debug Output Logging and click Submit …

What is the URL of the PDF you are trying to save?

If you try running the Macros with Zotero closed do you get a prompt that Zotero is not open? What's the full version of Word (like 16.0.7668.2074)?
-
Have you tried restarting your computer? If you go into Options -> Customize Ribbon, enable Developer tab, then in the Developer tab click "Macros", do you see Zotero related Macros? What happens if you run them?

What version of Word is it (like 15.41)?
-
Try with the Connector beta release.
-
The preference that controls this is currently located in the Zotero client under General. We are planning to move it into the Connectors to make it more intuitive, but for now, that's where the preference controlling this is, so you should check th…

You can close the tab as soon as the progress window lists the name of the item (or all of the selected items, if saving multiple items from a page). From that point on the rest of the work is done by the Zotero client and the progress window indica…

Could you test the beta release with all other extensions disabled?
-
Hmm. Do you get the popup for any other page (e.g. this one)? If you install the release version, do you get popups?
-
Also, you can now install the Beta release of the Connector instead of the debug build.

Could you produce a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector? 1. Open the Zotero Connector preferences right-click the extension button and select Options/Preferences. 2. In the Advanced tab of the Zotero Connector preferences, check the box next to “Ena…

You can now alternatively install the Beta release of the Connector. The fix should make it into the stable release soon.

Does it happen in a new document? If not, try running through https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#debugging_broken_documents

Simon's build is generally known to be working and stable, but we need to find a way to update existing code for future features and compatibility, so please test the new one to see whether the crashing is fixed: https://github.com/adomasven/zotero-…

@draekelly We'd need you to make sure that the Word plugin is enabled in Zotero -> Tools -> Add-ons and if so, to follow this request, so we are sure that this is the same problem.
-
@bedard.cedric seems like I failed to follow up. Are you still having the problem?
-
What is the version of the Word add-on found in Zotero -> Tools -> Add-ons?
-
What version of Word are you running (like 15.41)?

I don't think there has ever been much communication over what changes to expect from Office developers in new releases. Generally, though, Zotero uses some very basic features of Word that have worked generally well over the years without much chan…
