I had misunderstood the intended behaviour then. I thought that zotero defaults on what's currently in the focus/viewable area rather than auto-scrolling. So: "The intended behavior is that Read Aloud turns pages / scrolls automatically, unless yo…

re. epub: page flip is *sometimes* tracked, other times not. PDF reader never flip page automatically.
-
"Note that *outside of reading mode*, in normal viewing mode, reading does track page flip automatically. " is false. i might have triggered the play/pause or annotation mistakenly, which does bring me to the active sentence currently reading out …

Inconsistency between reading mode and normal mode: normal mode: left/right arrow key: previous/next page. reading mode: left/right arrow key: nothing.
-
a related, albeit more quality-of-life point: there's inconsistency with the system triggering annotation. In read out loud, annotations are quite simple (u/h), though in normal / not read-out-loud mode, the keyboard shortcuts are not as intuitiv…

fantastic, many thanks Martynas!

edit: this doesn't happen with every pdf... still investigating mechanism.

Thanks for the context @dstillman, perhaps my being fidgety when using zotero resulted in me being confused! Still would like the feature, though! haha!
-
thanks @dstillman - can confirm that issue is not zotero's! now narrowing down on which plugin! Edit: Seems to be Linter. Reporting to the dev!

still curious about this - just now i find that a non-zotero edited pdf was not syncing across until additional syncing is performed. no error was reported in all cases.

+1 waiting for this.

you're right - not sure what happened there. I just tried with another pdf and it didn't export as flattened. :|

update ii. on dual monitor setting (haven't moved across), pdf in new window - not new tab - opening a PDF which was not recently opened (therefore utilising the default zoom factor), right click button might not appear in the UI. the menu appears…

@dstillman - cannot reproduce in troubleshooting mode. the deletion is triggered by backspace on keyboard. However, after troubleshooting mode, I can't seem to reproduce this problem.. hmmm.

@dstillman - afaik this issue is new, never seen this issue before the most recent updates (perhaps Zotoro, perhaps not) but am not sure how long ago... so, the issue persists after, when only the built-in montor connects: 1. restart zotero, 2. r…

update: issue persists when pdf is opened in a new window.

I guess it depends on what you mean by sync. If you just mean transferring files from one to another, then sure, it's possible but it's not automatic, only manual. If you mean that zotero takes care of monitoring changes and then reflect these chang…

@bhoconnor I guess it depends on your needs really. Zotero's inbuilt annotation works great. One downside might be that it doesn't encode the annotations into the PDF itself. But then this might also be an advantage as its is more efficient to trans…

another follow up: https://alfred.app/workflows/yohasebe/fzf/ still playing around with it, but i feel like i wouldn't need to rely on launchbar (yay from my 8GB RAM mac).

I do have a dual monitor setup, but i haven't moved zotero across displays. (moreover, the issue occurs on both of my monitors without movement across them, i just tested this - figured this might be of help). The pdf is opened in a tab.

@xkuri if by *official* you mean that of boox's rather than of zotero's, then it's simply that the zotero-generated annotations are saved only in zotero's database, not directly to the pdf files themselves. As far as I'm aware zotero has not (and p…

well spotted - many thanks! @oyvindbs. Just connected my Zotero account on Boox - the browsing is quite neat as it inherits the structure of the (web) library, also that it's quite responsive (think of using a file browser). However, as I use my o…

edit: bug 1) seems to be due to my annotation falling outside of the page/margin.

update: notwithstanding the aforementioned, I discover that even with an annotation / annotated in-text area selected, upon pressing backspace, the viewer goes to the previous page *as well as* deleting the selected annotation. However this cannot b…

+1 on both points!

@dstillman so far tested with 7.0.2-beta.3+182bfb9a3, mac 14.6.1: no issue when all plugins are disabled. I previously had bbt and attanger enabled. You? @shenpeixin

ditto. though my experience has been more of restarting the mac (thus quitting zotero) and the system almost always prompts a force quit on zotero as it is preventing the restart.
