I would assume you are not getting an answer because no one has an answer. I'm pretty sure Zotero doesn't test on locked templates and most users are academics where those are hardly ever used.

It's data entry -- you should just have numbers in the edition field, Zotero doesn't try to parse text into numbers (it can, when needed for a style, turn 2 into 'second')

Zotero has an official API, both web and local. pyzotero is just a python wrapper for that API (both of them, actually).

Not seeing this -- it would be greyed out in a group library which either has file adding/editing disabled or where you don't have file editing rights.

If everything happens in Word that shouldn't be an issue. It's likely _possible_ to break Zotero citations with Endnote, but it would require the reviewer to actively use Endnote in the document (and even then, it's just a _might_ not _will_ break).

This is currently awkward, yes. You need to delete,. empty trash, them recopy. Zotero has long said they want to improve this.
