Zotero 9 MS Word plugin: Cannot access citation editing options in Add/Edit Citation dialog

Hello,

I am using Zotero 9 with Microsoft Word on Windows 11. Since the recent Zotero update, I can no longer access the citation-specific editing options in the Word plugin’s Add/Edit Citation dialog.

This is about the Word plugin dialog opened from Word → Zotero → Add/Edit Citation, not about the main Zotero library window.

Previously, after selecting one or more sources in the Add/Edit Citation dialog, I could edit how the citation appears in Word — for example by changing/removing parts of the displayed citation, adding prefixes/suffixes, page numbers/locators, or adjusting the citation formatting before inserting it.

Now, after selecting a source in the citation dialog, I only see the selected source(s), and I cannot find the citation-editing panel/options anymore. i just can add pre- or suffix and omit author, I cant rearrange braces and stuff likes before in the menu on bottom. Clicking the Zotero icon/menu in the dialog only shows “Keep Sources Sorted”; I do not see an option for Classic View there. I also cannot find another way to open the detailed citation options from the dialog.

I have checked the documentation, which still says that citation-specific options such as locator/page, prefix, suffix, and omit author should be available from the citation bubble in the Word plugin dialog. I also found forum posts saying that selecting a citation bubble and pressing the down arrow or space should open the customization panel, but this does not seem to work for me, or at least the panel is not visible.

Could someone clarify how citation-specific editing is supposed to work in Zotero 9 with Microsoft Word? Has the UI changed, is this a regression, or is there a setting I am missing?

System information:

Zotero version: 9.0.3
Operating system: Windows 11
Citation style used: APA 7th
Plugin/dialog: Microsoft Word Zotero Add/Edit Citation dialog

Steps to reproduce:

Open Microsoft Word.
Click Zotero → Add/Edit Citation.
Search for and select a source.
Try to edit citation-specific options such as and rearrange braces or change any text in the middel or switch to Classic View.
The expected editing panel/options are not accessible or not visible.

Expected behavior:
The citation bubble should allow opening the citation-specific editing options, or there should be a visible way to switch to Classic View.

Actual behavior:
Only the citation source is shown. I cannot access the detailed citation editing options.

Thank you.
