Managing collections is easiest to do in the Zotero application rather than in the web interface. So for that question and the next, here are a few steps you might want to follow: 1. First step would be to install Zotero on all the computers you wa…

Fair enough. Here's the most authoritative Dutch translation of the APA guidelines I could find — published by SURF, the collaborative IT service provider of Dutch higher education and universities. It's created by "nine information specialists from…
-
I can confirm you don't see the American {month day} order ever in Dutch scientific resources. As there is no official APA translation, bartvbeek's suggestion to create a separate style rather than a localised official version seems a good way to go…
-
Yes, this is easy to accomplish by selecting a different citation style. Go through http://zotero.org/styles to find a style that looks like what you need.
-
No, it doesn't. See here for one of the threads with info on why not. Basically, the extension system in Edge is not yet mature enough and doesn't support some of the key functions a Zotero connector would need to talk to Zotero.

Read this explanation: https://www.zotero.org/blog/zotero-5-0-36/#faster-citing-in-large-documents

Yes, I agree — I usually also use isbn/doi retrieval (also note that if you have access, using the 'Add to Zotero' button will even get you the newest and official PDF). If they come on a USB, you get the metadata separately, and you want to use Z…

Check out the new PDF features in the newest version of Zotero: https://www.zotero.org/blog/zotero-5-0-36/
-
Follow the second link in my post. Basically you can't do it from within Acrobat, as it doesn't know how to talk to Zotero. Save the PDF in a place where you can find it, then drag and drop it into your Zotero library following the instructions.
-
Can you describe the problem in more detail, including the precise steps you are taking? Read "adding files" for details on how to add PDF files to Zotero, if that's what your question is about.
-
Could it be that the problem is that your students don't have Zotero Standalone installed (yet), but only the Chrome connector? The only Zotero bit in Chrome is the connector, which relies on the main Zotero software; and it's the latter that suppli…

It's not clear what exactly you mean. If you have PDFs in your Zotero library that you want to open in Acrobat X Pro (instead of Acrobat DC, which may be the default on your system), go to the preferences pane and set the desired application in th…

You can select items in your private library and drag them into a group library.

Which word processor (+version) and OS (+version) are you on?
-
Yes I've seen your multiple posts; for the record it's usually not needed to post a query in multiple places. I am on the latest Zotero version, so presumably the same as you. I was responding to your "can we all assume" — the answer is no. That i…

So can we all assume then that, after this update, if you rely on auto-update, Zotero will go into a mad sweep of hundreds of citations every time it opens, and on every new citation, taking tens and tens of minutes out of the day? No. For the rec…

+1 for adding preprint in the UI (possibly by renaming report to preprint) +1 for the image item type Motivation When the original list was devised, the present surge in preprint servers couldn't be foreseen; now many (new) users will expect this …

Sounds like you do have the right icon, because the error message indicates you've clicked the right button. What this means is you're trying to save from a website that's not yet supported, and/or you don't have Zotero Standalone open yet. What is …

It doesn't: https://www.zotero.org/download/

See this failed attempt at implementing / proposing something like it. The discussion in that thread is informative. Generally the Zotero devs have pushed back at anything that looks like a user-driven voting or priority system because Zotero deve…

My hope is that at some point the code will be mature enough to be folded into the Zotero Word plugin — @bwiernik is this likely?
-
Instead of manually applying your desired layout changes to the bibliography, modify the 'Bibliography' style. Since your bibliography is regenerated on every Zotero refresh, manual changes will be lost, but the style will be reapplied.
-
Would be extra lovely if you could tie this in with the Zotero toolbar, adding a button 'Merge selected citations'!
-
Just want to note this sounds very promising and is likely to solve by far the most common confusion for new users of Zotero, who tend to drag PDFs into the library and expect them to magically be citable.
-
FWIW, I second fbennett's UI wording observation

Like you, I have a lot of false duplicates (any sufficiently large library will). See Dan's post in this earlier thread — in brief, marking as non-duplicates is indeed non-trivial but planned (though the issue hasn't seen activity since Nov 2016); b…

Or: 3. The file already has the desired name with the exception of capitalisation differences. At least in older versions of Z (not sure whether this is still the case) this would lead to a silent fail on the rename operation.
-
I use the file name; you can also use tags and/or the text field that appears in the right pane when selecting the attachment.

To spell out adamsmiths comment, converting Zotero references to an EndNote-readable format would come close to emulating the behaviour of EndNote, which given the litigious stance of EndNote's owner Thomson Reuters could well be a legal problem. …
