FYI: Unfortunately call number does not currently exist for Item Types Bill, Blog Post, Case, E-mail, Forum Post, Hearing, Instant Message, Patent, Podcast, Presentation, Statute, or Web Page (although libraries do collect most of these), so it can'…

I too would benefit from this functionality. Can this be identified as a feature request?
-
That sounds great!
-
The problem with that is there are only 6 colored tags, which may be too few for rating for some users, and which may already be used for other purposes.
-
I do use tags for some of these. The disadvantages include the lack of built-in hierarchies that you get with collections (and mine currently get up to 7 levels deep), only 6 colored tags (which I already have used up), and the quick visualization o…

My goal is, for categories I have assigned to items, to have Zotero be able to easily differentiate between those categories I have designated as primary from those I have designated as secondary. Primariness here is an attribute of the item/categor…

I too have a need to identify primary and secondary categories for items. I would be fine using collections, or tags, or saved searches, or other metadata in Zotero. Since all metadata applies to an item, rather an instance of an item in a collectio…

This behavior is not new, at least for some punctuation marks, such as the colon. I like punctuation-aware ordering--please keep it. I've been relying on it for forced sorting of notes and collections.
-
Another reason would be to add the web page when you are offline.
-
I also would benefit from this change.
-
In some situations, I would find it useful to display and sort on the URL. The fact that the URL is long, and would get chopped off is fine. When I need this feature, I care about the main website, not further parts of the URL.

Click on the Title column in the middle column.
-
I use tags, and they work well for me. I use more than 2 tags, so even if there were a Read/Unread element, I probably wouldn't use it. I use tags for: read read, partially skimmed read; read again later to read

After step 5 above, if I go back to the Advanced Search window and double-click on the item again, it works properly.
-
This is still occurring in 5.0.22. This is similar behavior to that discussed here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/288346, except clicking on Advanced search result rather than related item link.
-
It has not happened to me when My Library is selected. 1. Open Zotero. 2. Click on a collection. 3. Click on the Advanced Search icon. 4. Search for something by title. 5. Double click on a title that is not in the selected collection. In the left…

This is still happening in 5.0.22.

This is still happening for me in 5.0.21

Okay, it seems to be happening if a collection rather than My Library is selected in the left pane. Debug ID = D1696559987 report: No errors have been logged since Zotero started. version => 5.0.21, platform => Win32, oscpu => Windows NT …

This just started happening to me yesterday, intermittently. I've turned on debug output logging, but of course the problem hasn't recurred. I'll post a debug ID when the problem happens again.

I prefer keeping tags as entered. I sometimes use different case for different purposes.
-
Shift+Enter works in Zotero 5. (See https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/keyboard_shortcuts.)
-
I'll bet this is what happened to me here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/283754#Comment_283754

I removed the relationship, then re-added it. It is showing as reciprocal now. It is in 5, but I added the relationship after upgrading to 5. If it happens again, I'll report it here.
-
Despair not! The keyboard shortcuts you want in Zotero 5 do exist, although as Shift+Alt (Windows & Linux) and Ctrl+Shift (MacOS). See https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/keyboard_shortcuts for more.
-
Did this get removed between 5 beta and 5 release? It is not showing in 5.0.8. As with others, this would increase my efficiency.
-
I also would find this useful.
-
@marianschmidt: For your #3, I solved it this way: Right-click on the Zotero shortcut or start menu item. Select Properties, then Compatibility. Click on "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings", then on Apply. When I restarted Zotero, text is…

Any estimate for 5.0 release yet? Even something vague, like "this summer" or "next year", would be helpful to those of us who need to plan for the change.
