@Bryanmitchell, could you provide an example (URL) of the RIS file that leads to an excessively long "creator" (author) name?
-
OSF imposes a 100/hr API query limit for unauthenticated users, so this is definitely something to keep in mind if a large number of search results are going to be imported, because we use the API queries for retrieving the metadata of search result…

@duracell34, in addition, I'd like to know what should the desired output (Zotero item) of a single supplement look like, from the POV of the user. A supplement, as I understand it, is part of the encyclopedia entry, and the SEP itself doesn't prov…

@duracell34, @adam3smith, The current translator, by importing the BibTeX citation format, uses bookSection as the type of the item. Is it desirable to change it to encyclopediaArticle, which I feel is more precise?
-
Thanks. I'll look into that.

I'll try to come up with a hot fix if just to truncate the long "name" to prevent cascading failures like this. Meanwhile if this is a persistent and "atrocious" problem from a data source, we may petition them for a fix at the root of the problem.

It appears to me that the OAI-PMH endpoint that feeds us the bibliographic metadata was timing out -- an unannounced outage. Could you try it again after some time?
-
Also, if anyone has an example of a Project Muse book with a full-book PDF, please let me know.

Did you enable Full Keyboard Access (Tastatursteuerung) in your system's Accessibility settings?
-
@dstillman, I recall running into the empty-response problem while logged in via institutional subscriber. But I need to verify this with greater attention.
-
It may also help if we notify CrossRef about this problem.

I'm afraid none of the collation order options, as specified by the JavaScript API, would support a purely Pinyin-based ordering for mixed language content. So any implementation has to be crafted specially for this purpose and is therefore unlikely…
-
BTW, this is not a Zotero thing per se. The behaviour arises from the underlying definition or locale-dependent sorting order as created by the International Components for Unicode project. The defaults may be fairly reasonable for mostly monolingua…
-
Hello @EmmaWK, First, could you describe what you use the author-name ordering for? My understanding is that the display order is just for display. But I can see how it can be useful for certain workflows. Second, practically, what would your desi…

It's possible that we're either being served with different content at the same URL, or we're looking at different translators (mine has uuid eb876bd2-644c-458e-8d05-bf54b10176f3, last updated 2019-06-10 22:46:01). This translator works on a page o…

Updating the target regex won't be a quick fix for this particular translator. There has to be an update to the translator itself.

When you create a citation, in the UI for selecting the style, you can choose the language for the citation no matter your UI language: https://www.zotero.org/support/supported_languages#citations_and_bibliographies
-
Quand vous faites des citations vous pouvez specifier la langue pour eux. C'est au-dessous de « Style de citation » -> Langue : [ sélection ]. Peut-être on trouvait l'arabe là ?
-
Hello @adamsmith, thank you. And I found your post in this thread about citing ChatGPT-generated content. The recommended citation to the digital dictionaries looked a bit like the one generated for the type "software" discussed there. It sort of m…

My guess is that the Connector was trying to save the content as generic webpage. The LiveChat widget on the page could be interfering with this. For Zotero to correctly understand the content and save the metadata, a translator script has to be wr…

Most of the translators don't use cookie information, and they don't care about whether you're in incognito mode (as long as Connector is permitted to run). I've been using Connector in it with no problems. Could there be some other cause?
-
I don't think that's possible, but I wonder why you needed that. Do you have many items with authors sharing the same last names?
-
Hello 这个转换器目前已经更新,Zotero Connector 应可以自动获取并使用它。如果没有更新,请进入 Zotero Connector 的设置 -> Advanced -> Update translators.
-
Could you provide an example where the translator failed to find the pdf file while you expected it should have done?
-
Hi, thanks for the pointer to the bib file. Some of the issues in there include the lack of authors' full names, and some incorrect partitioning of name components (e.g. "Khourdajie, A. Al", which should've been "Al Khourdajie, A."). Our fix handles…

Thanks for the report. I'm working on a fix.

I think sorting by title is in principle doable. The selector has only two columns: the selection boxes and "title" (technically, whatever text the author of the translator put in there to help identification). There's no column for date, and the d…
-
@ingmar93, the translator is being updated for the WG3 publications. Zotero Connector should auto-update within 24 hours. You can also update manually by clicking "Update Translators" in the "Advanced" pane of the Zotero Connector preferences.

Voilà la pull-request https://github.com/zotero/translators/pull/3058 Les devs vont la tester ...

Merci. Le bug avec le convertisseur « Légifrance » ça n'est pas difficile à réparer, mais le code est si ancien qu'il a de gros besoins de remaniement (300+ erreurs d' « ESLint »). J'y travaille right now.
