I have added some detailed installation instructions to the Wiki: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting?&#linux Warmly, ~Robert

Dear all, I am about to start a new project and would like to know whether the method described in this thread still works for Wine with Office 2010 and Zotero Standalone Linux as of now. Thankfully, ~Robert
-
@emilianoeheyns Thank you for your detailed comment! I will see how I can integrate all this into my ecosystem. ~ Robert

Alright, thanks for the update @adamsmith!
-
Dear all, I came across the same request. After one year, has something changed regarding fetching PDFs from Chrome's PDF viewer using the Zotero Connector? Thankfully, Robert
-
Dear @emilianoeheyns, I cannot completely follow your comment. Could you outline a little bit more detailed how you advise users to set up Atom, Zotero and Markdown? Thankfully, Robert
-
This is very exciting, thank you very much! I will follow your work as I am currently trying to move all my digital work―that includes academic writing―to Markdown and plain text files. Thankfully, Robert

I am currently trying to use one combined library folder which is watched by both programs.

As a workaround the following steps work and allow me to edit a bookmark: 1. Bookmark a page, e.g. by clicking on the star 2. Go to Bookmarks -> Show all bookmarks 3. Search for your bookmark 4. Now I am able to edit Name, Location or…

I think I have found the conflicting add-ons: Zotero and Xmarks [1]. Can you please test if you can reproduce the issue with having both installed? Thanks! [1] https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/xmarks-sync/?src=search

Need to re-open the discussion. I tested Zotero on a Window machine with exactly the same problem. Once Zotero is installed, I am unable to edit my bookmarks. However, I can still add new bookmarks. I tried already cleaning places.sqlite and d…

And the issue is back again. Once Zotero is enabled, I cannot edit any existing bookmark. Installed version: firefox 32.0.1-1 Should I finally report this to the Arch Linux bugtracker or can someone using another distribution reprodu…

Alright. Consider the issue as resolved. Thanks!

> So you could just quit Standalone, but Zotero for Firefox would then do the same thing and presumably take up the same amount of CPU. You are right. Indeed, it was Zotero Standalone that for some reasons did not quit successfully and was r…

@Dan You were right. It was an Arch related issue. The Firefox package has just been updated [1] and also fixed the incompatibility of bookmarking with Zotero. Thanks for your help! [1] https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/pa…

Yes, it does.

Yes, I am aware of that. To confirm, clciking on the icon next to the star opens the context menu. However, clicking on the star once the bookmark was added used to open a small popup where I was able to edit the bookmark.

@adamsmith I will contact the VUE developer for more information on this. Thanks!

Hi there, My question goes into a slighly similar direction. I really like Docgear's mind map feature. What is the best approach to have a mind mapping feature next to Zotero's great note feature? Thanks ahead!
-
@charpent Thanks for following up with this. Although a niche, it would be of great benefit if Linux users could just rely on a Wine implementation instead of having to run a separate virtual machine. Thus I totally support your idea. As a…

@adamsmith Thanks for the hint. I didn't know that. Very useful!

Are you thinking about a service similar to http://www.citethisforme.com? In fact I second this, too. The ability to create an online citation based on your library would be extremely handy in situation when you cannot use a portable Firefox in…

@aurimas I see your point about items residing in multiple collections. Yet I still see potential for the feature to switch the view of the collection pane directly to the highlighted collection. The issue 135 you are referring to has been…

Yes I am. But this Alt key highlighting does not completely do what I am looking for. Let us say: 1. I am in `My library` and select an item. 2. I press the Alt key 3. If my library has dozens of collection folders, I do not even see which …

@ctsatsis What do you mean by `Zotero does recognise your Office installation`? How does it recognise it? And which icons do you mean?
-
Just adding to this that you can download from here [1] and use the internal update function to update it to the latest version 4.x Then you will have the latest *portable* version of Zotero. [1] http://portableapps.com/node/36565

Thanks for your two suggestions. The first indeed sounds much more promising, particularly considering that websites nowadays are often created dynamically, implying that the second method would certainly often fail. I contacted the develo…

Thanks for the hint Dan. I checked my WebDAV settings and verified the server again. This finally resolved the issue.

Thank you.

Thanks, now it is much clearer! But as I said before, the full benefit is only gained once the Google Docs is exported to ODF. As long as I just work in Google Docs, I will not have any benefit from using this extension.
