Which site translators would you like to see?

  • Please add site translators for the various databases of the TOXNET system found at http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/index.html
  • I know this has been requested before, but just to show that it would be appreciated by many, I'd love to see a translator for patent websites, especially Espacenet which is a free database and the most comprehensive and user-friendly in my experience. It would be incredibly useful!

    ep.espacenet.com
  • Web of Knowledge (ISI)
    Wilson Web
    Ingenta
    Metapress
    Peeters Online
  • And I forgot:
    Periodicals Archive Online
    Redalyc
  • I am not sure if these sites have been requested, if so the I am seconding them.

Gale Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center (http://gale.cengage.com/OpposingViewpoints/)

    Internet Movie Database (imdb.org)

    New York Times Blogs

If the only one could be added I could -really- use the Opposing Viewpoints, I do a lot of citing out of there and when I grab a bunch of resources it can be quite tedious.
  • Royal Society of Chemistry (www.rsc.org) journals - I get the little clicky box and snapshots work, but doesn't pull the pdf too - only a link to it which doesn't work. Maybe its a site problem rather than Zotero, though.

    translator does not save :(

maybe it is the site, not the zotero?
  • Thank you for the good work you've done so far.

Please consider adding the COBISS platform (COBISS/OPAC): http://www.cobiss.net/

Without it, a large part of South East Europe national libraries cannot be used with Zotero.

An example of an article: http://vbs.nbs.bg.ac.yu/scripts/cobiss?ukaz=DISP&id=1957297859704876&fmt=11&rec=7&sid=1
  • http://www.lrb.co.uk/
    http://www.thenation.com/
    http://www.nybooks.com/
    http://www.newyorker.com/

would all be very useful. Thanks for a great tool!
  • It would be very useful to have a translator for the German National Library
    (Deutsche Nationalbiliothek):

    https://portal.d-nb.de/

    Cheers,
    WMW
  • Psychinfo citations can't be filtered from OvidSP at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia (http://ovidsp.tx.ovid.com.simsrad.net.ocs.mq.edu.au/spa/ovidweb.cgi?T=JS&MODE=ovid&PAGE=main&D=psyh)

I am able to filter these same citations from the Psychinfo database at University of Queensland, so I know it is not my computer that is the issue. I want to help Macquarie academics use Zotero, because it's an excellent system, but I can't really recommend it until this database is recognised.
  • Hi, I was surprised not to see the following, but it didn't turn up in a search. It would be really helpful to have.

    MIT Press Journals
    mitpressjournals.org

As it stands now, an article listing is downloaded as a [web page], but with none of the citation info for the print publication, without the pdf of the article, and with the author's full name in the [last name] category.

Browsing is free, but to get full articles you need paid/library access. Fixing this would kill a lot of birds with one stone, as MIT Press Journals includes the following publications, grouped by *discipline*:

    *Arts & Humanities*
    African Arts
    Computer Music Journal
    Daedalus
    Design Issues
    Grey Room
    Leonardo
    Leonardo Music Journal
    The New England Quarterly
    October
PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art
    TDR/The Drama Review
    *Economics*
    Asian Economic Papers
    Education Finance and Policy
Journal of the European Economic Association
    Quarterly Journal of Economics
The Review of Economics and Statistics
*International Affairs, History & Political Science*
    Global Environmental Politics
    Information Technologies and International Development
    Innovations: Technology|Governance|Globalization
    International Security
    Journal of Cold War Studies
    Journal of Interdisciplinary History
    Perspectives on Science
    The Washington Quarterly
    World Policy Journal
    *Science & Technology*
    Artificial Life
    Biological Theory
    Computational Linguistics
    Evolutionary Computation
    Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience
    Linguistic Inquiry
    Neural Computation
    Presence: Teleoperators & Virtual Environments
  • Chemistry Journals:
    ACS doi lookup pages
    ie http://pubs3.acs.org/acs/journals/doilookup?in_doi=10.1021/jo00079a008
    Thieme-Connect Journals
    ie http://www.thieme-connect.com/ejournals/toc/synlett
    "Legacy" (Old) ACS Journals
    ie http://pubs3.acs.org/acs/journals/toc.page?incoden=joceah&indecade=5&involume=20&inissue=11
  • We just pushed out new or improved translators for:

    MIT Press Journals,
    Philosopher's Imprint,
    Berkeley Electronic Press,
    Scopus,
    Davidson College Library,
    CSIRO,
    PLoS Pathogens,
    PROLA,
    arXiv.org

Everyone should get them within 24 hours.
  • most university press sites do not seem to be translated. Eg. Harvard, Princeton etc.

Also would like more Indian academic sites translated.

    eg. www.cscsban.org, ilidelhi.org.

will post again soon with a more exhaustive list.
  • I can't find references to this elsewhere, but I'd really like translation from the APA psycnet site (http://psycnet.apa.org/) so I could get articles from those journals as easily as from the ones in jstor. Thanks for all your work, sorry if this is mentioned slightly differently somewhere else.
  • i use www.emusic.com for research, and it would be nice to be able to grab discography off of it.
  • The Geological Society of America has a number of journals that are not currently recognized. See... http://www.gsajournals.org
    Thanks.
  • I agree to some others who mentioned that WebSPIRS would be extremely useful.
    Thanks!
  • OvidSP sites - without ovidSP working wilth Zotero means a large number of medical resouces cannot be used with Zotero. OvidSP is often the portal for full-text articles for many health care researchers, as opposed to PubMed which will only give full-text to free-access journals.

Please update the site-translator for OvidSP! I would love to use Zotero fully but am being restricted greatly by it not working with OvidSP
  • PsycARTICLES (http://www.apa.org/psycarticles/) would be extremely useful.

"PsycARTICLES® is a database of full-text articles from journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe Publishing Group."
