Since we can extract annotations from PDFs into Word/Google Docs directly, why would one use Zotfile?

We created a new, much faster version of Google Docs integration, but unfortunately there's a Google Docs bug that can result in errors, so until they fix that we're not making it the default.

We need a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for loading Google Docs and trying to cite.

I've tried with and without google docs integration toggled on and off. It's a nightmare. If it works, it works at most for first citation and then similar issues and I have to restart.

Can you restart Zotero and your browser and provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) from the Zotero Connector for reloading Google Docs and trying to add a citation?

Ah good ideas both. I don't think the wrong Google account is the problem, since I don't think I would be able to see the Google Docs via my other account which I almost never use, but I will check.

@natpoor: Also be sure to update to Zotero 6.0.17, which can fix a problem with Google Docs integration, and reload Google Docs afterward.

Right, I did not realize you are copying whole documents. Generally you can make copies of your documents with Zotero citations intact via the File -> Copy option in Google Docs. We don't really test

As I say in the other thread, you should disable v2, and if you're still having trouble we need a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector — not Zotero — for reloading Google Docs and trying to cite with v1
