Update update: After reinstalling the Word plugin a couple more times, it is working now, so I guess I solved it?

When I try to do anything with Zotero in MS Word - add citations, add biblio, refresh, etc, I receive the following "Zotero Integration Error": "Zotero experienced an eror updating your document."

These are standard Word fields, the same kind used by other citation managers. There has never been a case in Zotero's entire history of citations in Word getting flattened erroneously by some bug. It

There's almost no chance it was anything other than those things. Word fields don't just get flattened.

Thank you. I am checking for unlinked citations by refreshing Zotero (then it said I must insert citations first), or hovering over the existing citations (and seeing they aren't flagged). Previous ve

Yes, when I click "Add/Edit Citation" button in Word's Zotero plugin panel, Zotero 7 (which is running) gives no response. Sadly!

Unlinked isn't the same as unlinked from your Zotero database: citations can still be active and linked to *Zotero* (relying on metadata stored in the Word doc) and be unlinked from the Zotero databas

See Word field codes for toggling field codes. You can toggle individual citations via right-click or the entire document with the shortcut key given there.

Does this happen in a new document? If not, see the last step on Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents. It should only take a few minutes to identify the problematic part of the document.

Zotero keeps crashing my word document when I add a footnote or when I press refresh. I have tried to reinstall the plugin in word by delating the .dotm file, but it keeps on crashing.
