    I have a problem with Zotfile 2.3.5, which I installed today into my Zotero 4.0.8 installation in Firefox 22.0 on Mac OS X 10.6.8.

    Zotfile already does a nice job renaming the PDF attachments, so identification of the PDFs should be no problem.

    I've been consistently getting the error message "the source folder is not valid. please change the source folder under zotero-action-zotfile preferences. you might have to use a custom folder".

    well but not really - Zotfile will only _attach_ PDFs, it won't add new ones as standalone items, so no, Zotero can't really do it. The main reason, though, is that this is typically not a recommended
