Safari connector - how to save a pdf to Zotero

hi everybody

recently i switched from FF to Safari. In FF saving a pdf to Zotero was made easy as it offered a third option in the "where to safe the file"-dialog. I understand that was connected to the Zotero implementation into FF. Now on Safari I have a pdf file open in within the browser, skimming through and eventually deciding i would like to safe it as a source. How do I accomplish that? The little button on top is greyed out. A right click in the pdf gives me the adobe context menu. No sign of Zotero at this point. The only way I can think about right now is to safe the pdf onto my mac and then manually import it into Zotero standalone. Are there any more functional ways of doing that?

thanks
Chris
  • There is no very elegant solution still but:

    1. You should be able to drag the URL to Zotero Standalone - i.e. click&hold to the left of it and then drag.
    2. You can use Zotfile
    http://www.jlegewie.com/zotfile.html
which allows you to attach the last file saved to a specified folder (in your case e.g. the Safari Download folder) to a selected item.

thank you once again. the drag and drop method actually works perfectly for me. I got the zotfile plugin installed as well but haven't come around to completely figuring out how to use it. So far drag and drop works efficient for me.
