You have to configure ZotFile to create linked files in the folder where you want them.

I have followed multiple tutorials about using the linked attachment base directory function, I've downloaded zotfile, and none of it is working the way I want.

This isn't related to ZotFile, so I've moved this to a new thread. I can reproduce this when making a case-only change to an attachment filename from the right-hand pane. We'll fix — thanks.

Zotfile developers seem to have deprecated the extensions.zotfile.pdfExtraction.openPdfMac preference flag, and at Github I'm being told that the issue is in Zotero's end.
