When I try to do anything Zotero related in my LibreOffice documents, I get the following error after the latest update:

Libreoffice supports both paragraph styles and character styles (which can be applied to spans within a paragraph).

On the Zotero end, I think this is actually not technically possible as LibreOffice styles (in the sense of "default, Heading 1, etc.") are applied at the paragraph level.

I tried in libreoffice, where I can insert citation in caption by zotero. Since my collaborators use office, the issue of compatibility is there. :(

The Zotero toolbar in LibreOffice only displays text, like "Add/Edit Citation", etc. Is there any way to have it display in icon only mode?

It is, but you're not supposed to install it from LibreOffice. It installs from Zotero.

Yeah, the Zotero Word/LibreOffice add-on has a "Keep Sources sorted" option. There isn't a good way to include this in ODF scan markers without overcomplicating things.

What exact versions of LibreOffice and Zotero? What exactly happens when LO crashes?

Since the last update of LibreOffice in Ubuntu 18.4. (yesterday) using zotero is impossible, LibreOffice crashes. Any work around?
