It should work fine with 32-bit Word and Edge, but you should test to make sure. It's not very likely that the 64-bit version will significantly help with performance, but it cannot hurt to try.

You know you can just delete the citation in Word without using the Word add-on at all? Is there any reason you're using the Add-edit button for this?
