Zotero suddenly stopped working

when trying to add a citation to the existing document in which I have had no issues with utilizing in-text Zotero citations and bibliography, I suddenly am now unable to use any Zotero function without receiving an error message. I have re-started Word and Zotero without success. I have deleted the citation in question from Zotero app and re-uploaded it without success. now anything i do, I get the error message "Zotero experienced an error updating your document." HELP.
