Zotero logo not appearing in word and is blank. Can click on it and see functions such as add citation or bibliography but is unresponsive? Tried all trouble shooting
You'll need to say exactly what you tried, in your own words, and what happened at each step. You should also provide a Report ID. (As it is we don't even know what OS you're running.)
I uninstalled zotero and microsoft. Reinstalled both. Still did not work. I went to the word/start up folder in c drive, deleted the Zotero add in document. The add in disappeared from Word, I then reinstalled it using the cite add install in word function. Same problem. I then looked in word at the addin, nothing disabled. This is what is described.
The empty label instructions don't talk about macros -- they just tell users to check the trusted location with OP did, see last screenshot. Are you saying they should also check the "Zotero tab does not appear" instructions?
The first sentence of that section is "If after installing the plugin the Zotero tab has an empty label, it means Word Macro settings are preventing the Zotero plugin from running."
I guess we should add an additional note for institutional computers.

The problem is in word, running on windows 11. Between view and help is the zotero add in but it is not visible.

Checked the adminstrators, zotero is not selected and word does not have the option as described in your support section.
Also word start is in the trusted locations

If this is an institutional machine, macros may be disabled by group policy, in which case you will have to speak to your IT.
