Yes, I'm on the testflight version
-
Yes, it's a separate item, but annotating it syncs to all devices. On the other iOS device this particular item is not separate but with its parent. This is however just one example of discrepancies, on one iOS device the number of entries is differ…
-
The note syncs, but the parent item remains seperate on the mobile.
-
Ok, no problem. D65594008 is adding a note on a PDF which on iOS is just called 2411.06047, but on the desktop it has a parent item.
-
Thanks a lot for the link. New items sync fine, but there are some old items that are not syncing. For instance, a PDF which on the web/macOS client has a mother item, but on the ipad it has a seperate item (without PDF) and a naked PDF. When I anno…

Ok, I found the documentation about unfiled items, so that's unrelated. Here's a debug ID from iOS D656193615 and D1411311684 from another iOS device.
-
I also want to support this request. Now that the preview function is implemented, perhaps it would be relatively straight forward to implement this?
-
https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u7706797/2mzecm3hoo6zc0voyd8t.png It seems for standalone notes the Titel shown is the first words? But then, the search bar does not find it when I only search for Titel. I think this is counterin…

Fair point. I will try, but the un-reproducibility of this problem makes it hard for me to create a Debug ID. I just tried with 20+ downloads and they all went find :) Is there a chance to get the download progress bar running on e-ink devices? Cur…

Ok, I see now that they do contain timestamps, which can be seen from hovering over the annotations. Great. Then, hopefully, sorting by date should not be too much effort?
-
Ah now it did. But it took ages, and on iOS I could get it in a few seconds on the same network
-
I seem to still or again having issues with downloads. Latest example is D142401247 which I cannot get to download
-
Thanks. In some sense it's a minor quirk, but it's happening almost every day :P
-
Fixed in the latest version. Thanks. Minor point: it items have weird icons on the left hand side in the list view, for instance a microphone. But it works.
-
The new version also fixed that last issue, many thanks.
-
Great, that is fixed, many thanks!!!! The related bug https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/111351/android-attachment-type-bug-in-list-view remains.
-
Ah I see now this has already been reported https://github.com/zotero/zotero-android/issues/81
-
Thanks, done.
-
Thanks! Yes, this has drastically improved performance. Downloading PDFs is still hit-and-miss, it seems to get stuck often? [I download specific files on demand].
-
Ah, and even then, some of the pdf attachments don’t like to be downloaded
-
I managed to change to a folder with fewer items and there I can see something. So it’s probably an issue unrelated to sync but simply due to efficiency. But on a 2.4Ghz Octa-core I would not expect such problems, and indeed even on my older iPads I…

On my other device (where previously everything synced) can also no longer open my library. The software loads and shows the folders with number of entries on the left, but the right hand column remains empty and the app freezes.
-
Unfortunately not. It still got stuck around 13k items. I now logged out and back in but this made it worse, now it finishes sync without syncing any time in my main librarly, it seems. The Trash and the two smaller group libraries sync fine.
-
Good point. But even the remaining items do not quite seem to sync reliably. On one of my android devices, I managed to sync all 14,856 items, but on another only 13,121 items (an improvement over 6,234 yesterday!). When I try to re-sync, it goes th…

Thanks @enozkan. By killing/syncing/killing/syncing ... for several hours I indeed managed to sync my whole library (still without the files- not planning to do that). Syncing is still hit and miss: when I now annotate a file and force sync via pull…
-
Yes, via the usual share menu. But I suppose you're looking for another option- open the file in another app, annotate their, and bring back? That workflow would not be straightforward. I'd recommend using the built-in reader for annotations.
-
Thanks a lot for the quick fix, this seems fine now!
-
Neat, thanks. As far as I can see, the resolution of the pen is not increased, but instead at the end of each strokes the stroke is smoothed. This improved annotation a bit, but it is still far below the Apple Pencil experience with Zotero and also …
-
@martynas_b thanks. Unfortunately, Space and Shift+Space don't give the same as j/k. When a PDF is zoomed in such that say only the top half of it is visible, then space will go to the lower half first, before going to the top half of the next page.…

I tried the pen annotations on MacOS using an iPad with Apple Pencil as an external display with Pen Input. It works, but the pen resolution is very low (that is, the paths rendered only have very few points and look jagged), compared to other MacOS…
