Thank you! Can you tell me around when this feature was introduced? I tried looking at the change log for 4 and 5 but didn't find anything from a quick search. I'm seeing this problem with American Society of Microbiology (ASM) journals (http://www…

Thank you @bwiernik ! That makes sense!

I am looking forward to the batch editing feature! In the meantime, I tried following the instructions for batch editing linked above without success. I set the oldValue and newValue to "Escherichia coli" and "Escherichia coli", in order to italici…

Thanks. I selected "Disable all macros with notification" which caused the zotero tab to appear blank and the zotero add-in buttons to be non-responsive as before. But I get the option to "Enable Macros" during each start-up of Word, which then gets…

The Trust Center setting was "Disable all macros except digitally signed macros". I changed it to "Enable all macros..", and this solved the issue. Thanks @adomasven. However I am concerned - how safe is this and are there any precautions I should …

@adomasven Thanks for responding. I had a typo in my description. I actually have version 4.0.29.21 (I have auto update turned on).

Hi Adam (or anyone else?) I have a somewhat related problem. I recently got a new PC (Win 10, x64), and all programs were freshly installed. I have MS Word 2016 (32 bit), Firefox 53.0.3 (32 bit) with Zotero Addon 4.0.29.1 and Zotero Word for Window…

Same situation here.

That is a good idea @ouchyoung. It seems though that the flexibility of the right panel, or panel UI, is at a low priority/demand.

Any new considerations for this feature?

while β with utf8 maybe be correct, it is causing problems with biber/biblatex/pdflatex (though i'm not sure what is breaking it). on the other hand, the previous $\beta$ (also with utf8) seemed to work well.
-
neither! the bibtex file reads ? instead of $\beta$ or β with iso 8851-1. for completeness: it currently exports as β with utf8, but used to export as $\beta$ before the update (with utf8).
-
I tried exporting with ISO 8859-1, and it worked without having to use \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}, but the beta symbol is still a problem regardless of whether the utf8/inputenc package is loaded or not (although, it now appears as a ? instead of …

I guess the new .bib output from zotero is different from earlier: L\'{o}pez (old output) vs López (new output) and $\beta$ vs β which is causing the problem.
-
And finally, the .tex MWE with explicit UTF-8 support: \documentclass{article} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage[backend=biber]{biblatex} \addbibresource{new.bib} \begin{document} This is how an entry \cite{lopez-nicolas_kinetic_2007} appears …

The new .bib output: @ARTICLE{lopez-nicolas_kinetic_2007, author = {López-Nicolás, José M. and Pérez-López, Antonio J. and Carbonell-Barrachina, Ángel and García-Carmona, Francisco}, title = {Kinetic study of the activation of banana juice enzy…

Hi noksagt, Here are the MWEs: The old .bib output: @ARTICLE{lopez-nicolas_kinetic_2007, author = {{L\'{o}pez-Nicol\'{a}s}, Jos\'{e} M. and {P\'{e}rez-L\'{o}pez}, Antonio J. and {Carbonell-Barrachina}, \'{A}ngel and {Garc\'{i}a-Carmona}, Franc…

Adding \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} to the preamble appears to have fixed* the problem, so it seems as if it might be an encoding issue. I have no clue how to narrow down the problem, but if anyone one has any suggestions, I will try them to fin…
-
The .bib file was always exported using UTF-8. It seems pdflatex does not work well with utf-8, and therefore requires the inputenc package with the utf8 option. On the other hand, like I said, I did not see this problem with pdflatex/biblatex/…

Hello adamsmith! Sorry about the late response (I had given up after learning that it might take a while, and did not see your later updates). Thank you for the updated translator. I only just got around to updating firefox and zotero afte…
-
adamsmith, You mentioned making a custom translator earlier (I missed it between all the comments). That would certainly be of great help, as my current plan involves manually editing the html tags of a few hundred references (which I manually put …
-
Thank you for the comments everyone. I am guessing if I change the html tags to the appropriate tex tags, this will then break the rich text formatting for use with Word? Although I want to use my bibliography with latex, I still have to use Word o…

I hope there will soon be an option to specify the case for saving new items. I prefer the sentence case myself. Is there any means to (batch) convert the case for the whole library at once? I am not looking forward to going through several hun…

Thanks for the explanation. In "this case" the files were lost/deleted from the hard disk, and when recovering the lost files (using PC Inspector file recovery) although I was able to recover most of the /storage sub-folders, I did not find the…

Thanks for the reply adam. I was in fact curious if zotero would be able to continue the citations with either recovered or newly saved references. I will try making use of the pdf files like you said, although I do not know if any attachments …

Thats right. My friend was using the older version, and had no backup. Neither online nor local. She is almost at the end of her thesis and is pretty lost right now... I was wondering if there was any way to "read" the files from the /storage s…

Thanks. I found that there are discussions going on about this issue. Hopefully it won't take as long as you predict :)

Thank you for the response. The references I have in zotero are all obtained online (not from any other reference manager database). It seems to me that while some sites provide the abbreviation, some do not. In any case, would it be possible …

anybody know if http://linksource.ebsco.com works? I requested a translator for it some time ago, but seems it doesn't have one yet.

I use SciFinder too and often feel the need to import citations into zotero. However, most of the time, I also want to have a link/file saved in the attachment so I have no option but to open the individual articles. Perhaps with some work, it mi…
