A little more investigation suggests this is linked to an internal Zotero state. When I copy or rename the document, Zotero works as normal, but whenever I rename the document to its original file name, the error returns.

I updated today to 8.0-beta.24+faf8f2510 (64-bit) and the error persists (though I now see a progress bar momentarily before the popup appears). On a separate Win11 machine, Word crashes silently when I attempt to add/edit citations within this doc…
