Zotero 8.0.5 is out now with a fix for Safari 26.4
-
Should be fixed in the latest Zotero beta — thanks.

Added in the latest beta

Editing metadata after saving from the Connector is fine and appropriate. But deep integration with the browser is literally Zotero's raison d'être, going back 20 years, and not teaching your students to download the Zotero Connector as part of sett…
-
@yakjones: It's in the Zotero beta.
-
Make sure you have in fact removed all plugins. In particular, recent versions of Better BibTeX were causing frequent crashes. If you mean that it's closing completely, you should email a crash report from your OS to support@zotero.org with a link …

You can try copying zotero.sqlite.bak or zotero.sqlite.1.bak to zotero.sqlite, but if they're corrupted as well they won't work. To be clear, this means either that the files from your external backup drive were corrupted or that something corrupte…

Yes, we were just about to ask that — we were able to reproduce this after manually adding "i" → "I" as a text replacement.
-
We always need an example URL for problems with saving. If you're having trouble saving across many sites, see Troubleshooting Problems Saving to Zotero.
-
Also, what do you have listed for input sources in that pane (Keyboard → Text Input → Input Sources → Edit…)?
-
But also, when did this start happening?

Does this go away if you disable "Correct spelling automatically" and/or "Capitalize words automatically" in the macOS settings (search for "spelling") and restarting Zotero? (I can't reproduce on 15.7.4 with those settings enabled. @henryartp abov…

Oh, sorry, it wouldn't show up because it's not a valid item key, and we check for a valid item key in the search. Search for the parent keys I gave above instead, and look at all the attachments. You'll need to try to remember what you did to add a…
-
The parent items (HYLLV8LD, GISU4N42, BTSEQHIM, APSQLNHZ…) are all older. (You can also search for those.) So you specifically did something to create these attachments to existing items on March 4th.
-
You also didn't answer my question about plugins.
-
Can you provide some screenshots that show how you're trying the searches with the different keys that I provided above? You can post here or send to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread if you don't want to share the group name.
-
You would have to delete the trash locally. These items don't exist online, because they literally can't be uploaded.
-
You can also check the trash in the group library. The attachments weren't directly deleted, but the parent items might have been. In that case, you would just need to empty the trash (e.g., if you used something that created these and then deleted…
-
Again, though, these would've had to have been created by some plugin you used. I'm not seeing anything in Notero that would've done this. Were you using some other plugin earlier this month?
-
Then you're likely not in the right library. These are in the group library you own. Just deleting the attachments on disk won't do anything. Here's a whole bunch from your most recent sync attempt: 2D0V59EM 5B08TTCN ZBTW5OZL SCJ5M6OP OJOCPOLW D1…

From the server logs, it looks like these are PDF attachments created on March 4th. You should see them if you paste some of the item keys into the search bar, but you have to be in All Fields & Tags mode and you have to be in the root of the g…

This is a Zotero plugin (either Notero or something else you had installed previously), not something that came from us. (You don't need to post the error log. That's the point of the Report ID.)
-
You should make sure Zotero.dotm is in your active Word Startup folder. It also looks like you have a bunch of customizations to Word there, so one of those might be interfering.
-
(You can paste that item key into the search bar in All Fields & Tags mode in one of your group libraries to see the item in question. There are a bunch of them.)
-
ZoteroObjectUploadError: 'MK9C1DOX' is not a valid item key"] You've used some plugin that created invalid item keys. You'll need to report this to the plugin developer, who will need to help you fix them.
-
Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync that fails? (We only ever need IDs here, not raw output.)

Install Zotero 8 from the download page. There was an issue that could prevent Zotero 7.0.16 from upgrading automatically for some people.
-
We can only provide support for the current version, so you'd have to start by upgrading to Zotero 8. If you're still having trouble, see Reporting Problems for the two things we always need in order to help.
