If you restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), does that fix it?

Fixed in the latest Word update: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/492682/#Comment_492682

If you tap and hold on the item in the items list and choose Remove Download, and then try to open it again, does it happen again? If so, can you provide a Debug ID for removing the download and reproducing the problem?
-
See Changes Not Syncing, and provide the requested info if you're still having trouble.

Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?

That seems to show a completely successful sync. Can you explain what the actual problem is that you're currently seeing?
-
Our workaround last week fixed file-sync downloads that were getting blocked in China. We've now added a workaround for blocked uploads as well. If you're still having trouble, please provide a Debug ID.

[JavaScript Error: "Could not remove the file at D:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero\Data\storage\L6QY625Z"] You seem to have your Zotero data directory within an old Program Files folder. That's extremely incorrect, and you should move it out, ideally to…

This seems to be fixed in Word 16.97.1.

@dhoang: As fcheslack said above, we didn't make any meaningful changes to the authentication process, and we can't debug a third-party app that's been abandoned by its developer for years. You should use the official Zotero iOS app.
-
If you're getting an authentication error, there's no problem with the certificate. You're just using the wrong username/password, or something (proxy server, etc.) is intercepting your requests and rejecting them. You would have to check your WebDA…

Yes, if you're using the built-in PDF reader. Zotero syncs annotations separately from the files themselves, so there's no need to close and reopen files. Annotations will auto-sync within a few seconds.

How about now?
-
Yes, I'm afraid for now you'd need to re-add by DOI and then merge.
-
You should report this to the BBT developer on GitHub. There's not currently a way to update metadata for existing items, but it's planned.
-
Disable the Better BibTeX plugin, restart Zotero, and reset your translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders section of the Zotero settings. Does it work after that?
-
Those work fine for me. Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID, which you provided) for an attempt that fails?

Can you answer my other questions, though? We'd obviously like to make sure this doesn't happen.

The mobile apps are not going to support linked files. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/468028/#Comment_468028

This is from Safari? What version? Can you provide a screenshot? Are you running any Safari extensions, and does it work if you disable them? In any case, you should try from a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
-
You can try the Zotero 7.1 beta, but that's about all we can suggest. To be clear, are you saying you get the same crash in Firefox? If so, this won't be fixed in Zotero until it's fixed in Firefox.

@S81: And based on the screenshot in your email, you may be able to recover data (from March) from the last automatic backup. You should follow the instructions there to immediately make backup copies of all of the zotero.sqlite* files. But another …
