I have not used the v7-compatible version of the reference plugin enough yet to know if it interacts with Zotero's new Smart Reference Popups for hot links (when embedded in the PDF). It's possible that some of what you are seeing is the Zotero popu…

Did you have a Linked Attachment Base Directory setting on the old computer ? Do you have one set on the new computer ?

What happens when you try to open a PDF on your new computer ? If there is an error message, what exactly does it say ?

The zotero reference plugin does something rather like that. https://github.com/MuiseDestiny/zotero-reference The Chinese instructions are readily translated by Google Chrome's right-click translation. But you discover how it works mostly by using …

Questions regarding third-party software should be directed to the developer: https://github.com/mickstar/Zoo-For-Zotero/issues

The developer has just announced that migration of the Folder Import plugin to Zotero v7 has been commenced. But it could take a while (?). The plugin did support linked attachment files in v6 and thus should hopefully do so in v7. https://github.co…

@dccrene I see that Zotmoov can now be set to assign a tag like _tablet and _tablet_modified to files moved to tablet. So a saved search will show you the files with those tags (that's how the Zotfile folders worked IIRC). It can also extract annota…

Firstly, if your PDFs are (also) online with Mendeley, you could import your Mendeley library into Zotero using this process, which should preserve its collections structure *within* Zotero: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/mendeley_import That p…

Re why you *need* Zotmoov on B, Zotmoov intervenes with all new attachments added via the Zotero web connector, moving them to your 'move' folder on Onedrive. Otherwise there's nothing to do that move. This may relate to confusion as to what Zotero…

Zotfile was not updated for Zotero v7. Use zotmoov or attanger.

Zotero 7 compatible plugins are listed here (Chrome's translation works well); https://zotero-chinese.com/plugins/

In my experience some of those plugins are RAM and/or CPU hogs. Try disabling the first one (or limiting its selected options) and see how that goes. ;)

It's a known issue. So should be fixed soon. Current remedy from the developer is to install the previous version... https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-pdf-translate/issues/1012 (Chrome's right-click translation of github page works well)

Unfortunately the Navigate plugin didn't get updated for Zotero v6, let alone v7.

Problems with a third-party app should be reported to the developer: https://github.com/mickstar/Zoo-For-Zotero

Re 1, PDFs opened from within Zotero should open in the Zotero reader, unless you've changed that in Zotero settings. Most people find that to be the best approach, all things considered. Annotating in an external reader should be robust though, exc…

Re 1, check that the item's author metadata has been entered in Zotero with two separate fields, for last and first name. And that name disambiguation is not being applied as required by the style: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/given_name_disamb…

Re checking a list of all citations of an item *from within Zotero*, that is an option in the new v7-compatible version of the Reference plugin (uses a free Semantic Scholar API key). That is an addition to its previous core function - extracting th…

There is a Word macro for this, which supports common citation styles: https://github.com/altairwei/ZoteroLinkCitation

If you can't use a supported word processor plugin, RTF Scan may be an option: https://www.zotero.org/support/rtf_scan

Yes. In Zotero desktop, just select the linked file(s) you want to move back into local Zotero storage, and then use Tools\Manage Attachments\Convert Linked Files To Stored Files. As long as you have File Syncing turned ON, and are under your onlin…

Attachment notes (which Zotfile used for the table of contents) are no longer supported in Zotero 7. Existing attachment notes need to be converted to child notes. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/458124/#Comment_458124

The plugins that replace most of Zotfile's functions in Zotero v7 are zotmoov or attanger.

Problems with scihub itself are common, although often only of short duration. Or scihub itself may be blocked in your location. You should go first to the actual scihub site (the particular scihub mirror URL that your plugin is set to use) and see …

As it's based on Firefox, a zotero.exe shortcut with the -P flag and profile name should do it ... https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/CommandLineOptions#-P_.22profile_name.22 Edit: the Zotero docs actually say that too. ;) https://www.zotero.org/supp…

To add one or more annotations to a new (child) note, create the new note first in the right pane (same as if you were going to type a new note). Then use right-click Add to Note on the annotation itself (or drag it onto the note). https://www.zoter…

Looks like there is a hidden preference to get HTML files renamed by Zotero. It works for me. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/116925/how-to-automatically-rename-attached-html-files

@wayneholmes install the plugin and then see "Create your own actions" under Quick Start ... https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-actions-tags?tab=readme-ov-file#-quick-start Instead of the "copy item link" code used in the example there, use the …

I agree. Prior to v 5.0.93 (2020), when Zotero saved HTML snapshots to their own folder (with of all the little files that are usually part of a web page), it made sense for HTML snapshots to be treated differently to other attachment types. But now…

@scotto some aspects of zotmoov's handling of html files have previously been discussed - see issue below. I believe it does now work correctly for right-click move/rename from local Zotero storage to the linked file storage folder (including updati…
