For troubleshooting your ZotFile issue, see here.
-
You can use Zutilo's "Copy select item links" function for that.
-
For linked files, the Zutilo add-on should be able to do this. Try using its "Modify attachment paths" function with the "replace all instances" option checked, see here.
-
BTW, you can switch between the Quick Search modes with "Alt + Arrow Up/Down", at least on Windows. That might be worth adding to the support pages: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/keyboard_shortcuts#searching
-
If this is about Quick Search, use the "Title, Creator, Year" mode. See here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/86949/quick-search-changed-from-only-top-level-to-all Advanced Search provides a "Show only top-level items" option.
-
Try "Manage Attachments" -> "Rename Attachments" in the item's context menu, which is accessed by right-clicking. See also this discussion: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/82766/renaming-rules-not-taken-into-account

For an explanation of Zutilo's "Modify attachment paths" function, see here. You only need to fix broken attachments. To find them, you could use the Zotero Storage Scanner add-on, which adds #broken_attachments tags to broken attachments. (I think…

It should be possible to import a Paperpile library including PDFs, see here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/63741/exporting-pdfs-from-paperpile

@emilianoeheyns: same minute :-)

@cwcompto: When importing a BibTeX database, BBT imports citation keys by default. You can change this with this hidden preference. In Zotero's Config Editor, search for better-bibtex*import* and toggle the importCitationKey preference. Imported ci…

The Zutilo add-on provides a "Copy tags" function which copies all tags of the selected items to the clipboard. You could also try to create an export translator based on the relevant Zutilo code, see here. (In the translator, try using var tempTag…

@adamsmith: I can reproduce what you described about downloading raw files from GitHub. This should be an issue with Firefox. Using Firefox on Windows, I get a .txt file when right-clicking "Raw", then selecting "save link as". Chrome doesn't have …

@dstillman: There have been reports of similar installation problems that were related to issues with the profile: https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues/1483 @DWL-SDCA: You could rename the .xpi file to .zip and try to open it. …

1. What version of Zotero and Zutilo are you using? 2. Did you try using a different keyboard shortcut for the "add tag" function as I suggested above? 3. For debugging the "add tag" issue further, you could try the following: a) Disable all add-…

With BBT, you can use AUX files for creating Zotero collections that contain your cited entries: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/77365/create-bib-file-only-from-papers-cited-in-a-tex-file https://retorque.re/zotero-better-bibtex/citing/aux-scan…

Your previous issue with Foxit Reader was resolved after you installed the deb package: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/82436/trouble-with-pdf-viewer-in-zotero-standalone Did annotations work back then?

How did you install Zotero on Linux? Using the official tarball or one of the packages? https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/linux_packaging
-
This might not apply to you in case you're doing this: Alternatively, you can use a symlink to sync only the storage directory from your Zotero data directory using the external sync service.

i have my zotero storage folder on my icloud drive. See Alternative Syncing Solutions in Zotero's documentation: Storing the Zotero data directory directly in a cloud storage folder is extremely likely to corrupt your Zotero database and should not …

i have zotfile installed but "rename attachments" doesn't work for me! See here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/87072/zotfile-renaming-and-linking-not-functioning

The item type wildcard is tied to the Zotero locale (here). So bwiernik is correct, there is no straightforward way. However, ZotFile's user-defined wildcards could provide a workaround. Set the preference extensions.zotfile.wildcards.user in the C…

My guess would be that it's actually a memory issue Another possible reason might be that you have broken attachments in your library. But I'm not sure about whether they can break the export. You could check if you have broken attachments in your …

I don't quite get it, as these objects are neither standalones, snaps or defective... If you're not selecting a top-level PDF, the error might be related to issues with your cloud storage. There's a related discussion here. Also note that working w…

I deleted a Zutilo extension from the application support. I don't if this was the gimmick but then Zutilo started to work much better. Could you describe this in more detail? It might be useful for other Mac users. Do you get this issue? For exampl…

(The last issue with the "add tag" shortcut has been described here again: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/87091/a-wish-for-zutilo-and-the-return-key.)

Let's continue in your original thread and close this one. It's better to keep things in context.

I checked my onedrive folders and for some reason they are set to "read only" That could be why ZotFile is not working for you. It's easy to check. Create a temporary folder outside of your OneDrive, e.g., C:\Users\...\Downloads\tmp\. Set ZotFile'…

I went back to the software manager, installed it from there (but version 5.0 94, not 95...) You're likely using the snap or flathub package. Both of them currently seem to offer version 5.0.94 only. I would recommend installing the deb package ins…
