Using an author-date style you can just create footnotes with Word and also place author-date citations there. All those will then be reflected in your bibliography. Would that cover your use case?

Wouldn't just a "book" item make sense here then?

I assume you're using a numeric style? Which exactly? Hitting the "Refresh" button should automatically reorder the citations if you move paragraphs around.

With Zotero open, click on that link. It should bring up a window to install it. If not, right click on the link, save as and install with a double click/via the Zotero preferences. Then refresh your document's citations.
