I am not 100% sure what you want to achieve, but the style you are using is an in-text author-date style. So that doesn't generate footnotes. You can just make footnotes with the Word footnote feature. Those are also used by Zotero with footnotes …

Yes, you can achieve that with the VisualEditor. Add a date, then remove the text/numeric and leave blank. Then add the two date-parts.

That's exactly what I wrote and linked to above. Those are field codes. If you turn them off, as explained in the article, you'll see the rendered citation.
