What kind of .pdfs are they in terms of content? You can't cite them directly, but you could make them into items (say a Journal article if it's the pdf of a journal paper) by right clicking on them and selecting "Create parent item".

This is a change that was introduced with APA 7th and is correct to their guidelines. If you want the old behaviour from APA6, you can switch to that. You can find it via "additional styles" or here: https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=apa-

You have built that macro wrong. Instead of entering that "traduit par" to the names you need to use a label. E.g.:

Did you change your code like I said and install it? You probably still using the old style. Also, ideally you want to make a new macro to show Book authors, so the style shows both editors and container-authors depending what is entered in Zotero.

You also need to change the filename, file ID and self link. Otherwise Zotero does not know how to differentiate the styles and just overwrite it again. Explained here: https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step

It already has a dot after the title: "SAS Institute. 2004. SAS/STAT® 9.1 User’s Guide. Cary, NC, USA." The author macro has the "." suffix for normal authors and for items it substitutes this with the title. The dot will always be there. Not sure …

I would say that "science writers" are moving to more collaborative writing tools such FidusWriter, F1000Workspace or just Google Docs. But InDesign? Quite a cumbersome tool to write and annotate/edit.
