That would be fine to my personal user interface logic, because the standalone notes are listed in the list of items as items with an apparent title. Non-standalone notes are "obviously" secondary child notes of items. To me, it makes sense that in…

I'm suffering from the same problem. After erroneus re-imports and merging, I'm left with tons of duplicate pdfs. Couldn't zotero identify such duplicate pdfs by comparing hash-values? I am considering writing a python script to make this job and el…

it's odd though. I've been seeing this error for several weeks now, it's been greeting me each morning. So all these re-starts of Zotero never changed a thing. Now the integrity check, restart, and it's gone. Maybe just coincidence, but of course, f…

Problem solved, thanks to your help. 1) checked database integrity. It said "no errors found". BUT: the red exclamation mark with the error-message has disappeared! So I think this step has already solved the issue. 2) I have restarted Zotero with…

yes, I'm considering doing that as a workaround (I haven't done it so far, because it means loosing a clear order of items in the folder-subfolder structure... the recursive collection feature is going to visually bloat up my parent folders). I'd mu…

I think many users will have the situation, where they start collecting literature about a certain topic, and create a folder for that topic. As the collection grows, many users will start using subfolders for more specific sorting of the various li…

I wish I could code... I think it would be worth a try to set up some kind of crowd-funding-system for specific, important feature requests, which are acknowledged by the official Zotero crew but cannot be handled due to more important work. I …

Thanks for your comment. Chrome I can't install, I'm sitting on an old android 2.3.6 here... :( With firefox I just noticed that actually the problem is not sooo much the with. It's more the height here. My actual note appears in a small whit c…

hmmmm, not much resonance there. So, are there better ways of reading notes on mobile devices than using the website? How are you reading your notes underway?

I've got exactly the same problem, but on Win XP

This thread started by briandk hits addresses many problems that we experience in our zotero-user group, with some frustration for people involved. +1 for the proposed solution
-
@krueschan: This problem can be avoided by leaving away the no-remote command for the zotero profile of firefox, but instead using the no-remote option on the standard profile, e.g. a weasel-quick-almost-no-extension-profile. This way I have 2 versi…

ah, very good, thank you for your help!

When I auto-import references directly from the publishers website, I often get italic-style-tags in the title like the following: A decision analysis of flow management experiments for Columbia River mountain whitefish (Prosopium williamsoni) mana…

You'll soon be able to have a standalone-app for Zotero. Just wait for the next releases of prism (https://mozillalabs.com/prism/). Their website states: News from Prism: "What’s Next: We’re working on plans to refactor Prism to run as a custom…

In order to have library items appear in the group library you need to manually copy=drag them there in Zotero. Only then they will be available to other group-members and yourself. I too had to digg into the manual to understand this. I think mos…

thanks, I've seen your comment above already. I mostly agree with you, but wether or not it is a good idea to try preserving those numbers in zotero you must leave up to me (knowing the situation and the alternatives).

other question, same goal: what could I replace the *ID* tag with, so Zotero will put the ID-Value into the Call-Nr.-Field?
-
According to https://www.zotero.org/trac/browser/extension/trunk/translators/RIS.js (line 36), the "ID" field is mapped to "itemID" on the import. Any chance of somehow displaying this itemID in Zotero?

second problem solved as well; my co-workers library contained other broken filepaths, where the drive-letters were not immediately followed by a ":" (e.g. file:///G/path/here instead of file:///G:/path/here). I have no idea where this path-error …

ok, one problem solved - was actually quite obvious; in some of the pdf-file-paths in Endnote, for whatever reason, theres instead of slashes the characters '%5C' in the pathname. A search and replace fixes that. But something else throws errors too…

Hi Dan. I'm experiencing similar problems (Win XP, Firefox 3/3.5, Zotero 2.0b6.5). The error message reads (translated from german): an error occured at the import of the chosen file. please check if the file is correct and try again I'm t…

Hi I too have been disappointed that zotero somehow is not (yet?) compatible with prism. BUT there is another satisfying solution: firefox profiles! I have various firefox profiles: one with almost no addons/extensions for speed (standard_profil…
