It is on the Zutilo page as required to make Zutilo work.
-
Sorry, Adam. I'm a bear of little brain. I could not get it to work. The required add-on below the Zutilo add-on did not apply (Zotero Bookmarks add-on).
-
I selected "My Library", but there is no "Select All" option in the drop-down. Am I looking in the wrong place?
-
Is there any way of copying ALL tags (not just the item selected). The number of tags has greatly expanded by automatic additions and synonyms. I need to clean them up. Alternatively, how can I select ALL items (~6000) and copy ALL of the tags? …

Thanks!! I asked because I have only a surface understanding of Zotero's design, apart from sqlite carrying a reference to items in "Storage". Long ago, I learned that a fragmented drive has a performance penalty.
-
However, I would still like to know whether defragmentation is "safe" with respect to the sqlite database. I assume that it would be safe to "storage".
-
Thanks. Will do. 8-)
-
My new question is: Is there any risk to Zotero data if the PC is defragmented (not compacted)? Fragmentation will slow down a PC. It is taking 2 to 3 minutes to capture certain simple web pages. This, on an Optiplex 3010 with 8GB memory and…

Try COPY / PASTE the image into the Note. That worked for me.
-
I did. The Zotero panel is now populated, just as you-all said. I'm very much obliged to you folks. I had assumed that the latest backup was the one to use; bad assumption. The damage had already been done. I'll start copying the correspond…

Let me pour a bucket of embarrassment over my head. How about a previous backup of 533,203 KB?
-
Is it possible that only one data directory is supported by a single "Library", and that the link to the welcome message persists despite an assignment to the desired directory in "preferences"?
-
Aurimas: “These are exactly the steps you need to take (don't delete Zotero or anything else).” With Win 7 Professional, Firefox 29.0.1, Zotero 4.0.20.2 1) Open Zotero (Done) 2) Go to Preferences -> Sync. Uncheck "Sync automatica…

Dan: Sorry, the directory shown by "Show Data Directory" with "Profle" selected shows an sqlite file of 984 KB.
-
Because Zotero does not display the information contained in the directory / folders. Only the initial welcome entry displays. Sorry for the delay; I'm removing wallpaper.
-
Zotero directory: From Preferences -> Advanced -> Files and Folders -> Show Data Directory. Populated, but not used. If one clicks the TEXT following the "Profile" button, the directory selected is populated. Is there any chance tha…

Library View: Yes

aurimas: It turned out to be unsuccessful. I can post what happened, step by step. However, it is not the fault of the procedure you suggested. The root cause is that the Zotero panel differs from the content of the Zotero directory. It is, …

Aurimas: Thank you! I'll do it. Fortunately, copying the sqlite file is a short step. Storage can wait for better weather. Please enjoy your evening. You have been a great help. I would never have discovered "how-to" without your expertis…
-
I may have to wait. Severe weather is approaching, and I have only about 40 minutes on battery backup.
-
There is no such directory. But! I'll try it after I delete Zotero, re-boot Firefox, re-add Zotero, and go directly to the "Show Data Directory" button. Copying "Storage" will take several hours, as it did last time. Please let me know if the…

I should add: I had installed "Microsoft Virtual Machine" and "XP Mode" for other purposes. Grief. Dumped it (uninstall). Installed or uninstalled, I had grief on two machines. The third never had these installed, and works.
-
aurimas: Sorry. Your questions answered (belatedly). "What does "the one I found externally" mean?" I did a full searches of directory "C:" on "4dzha82f.default", "4dzha82f" and "zotero.sqlite". A couple of copies (backups and files co…
-
Well, Assumptions are embarrassing! I had assumed that sqlite was either built-in or installed with Zotero. It had been there since 2008. I think I should install sqlite-dll-win32-x86-3080403.zip (323.29 KiB) "This ZIP archive con…

I'll be away for a while. Got chores & phone call from UK coming in soon.
-
I don't either, or understand what is going on. I'll try elevating the BAK file in what it is showing.
-
There must be 2 zotero directories. I updated the one I found externally (Firefox and Zotero closed), but the one shown by "preferences" does not have it. Win7 does not have the same directory address structure as did XP. Win7 and Firefox…

I have a zotero.sqlite from 5/9/2014. I'll try that. Some storage entries may be unreferenced. It is 976 KB. And one from 4/16/2014. It is 533 KB I'll do the 20140509 version first. Failed. See below.
-
adamsmith: I have a couple of file backups. I can remove the current sqlite and try a BAK from a previous backup. The current BAK file is from yesterday.
-
aurimas: will do. Should I copy and replace, or copy as an add?
