Zotero isn't written in Cocoa and doesn't have direct access to Cocoa APIs. Last I checked, the XULRunner/Firefox clipboard APIs only supported a limited range of MIME types, although admittedly it's been a while since I looked into this. As you not…

You may need to configure your proxy settings to allow connections to localhost. You can find instructions from another piece of software that are also applicable to Zotero under "Configuring the OS X Proxy Settings" here.

If you don't mind sharing a section of the document that reproduces the issue, if you can email it to support@zotero.org I'll see if I can track down the cause.
-
Can you reproduce this?
-
Do you have a proxy configured on your system?
-
Did you follow these instructions already? Did the installation complete successfully?

The biggest problem is that there's a space between the start of the file and the preprocessor instruction (

This will be fixed in the next release.

That's never going to work. The Word plugin isn't compiled for PPC, and even if you were to recompile it, Mac OS X 10.4 is missing one of the frameworks the Word plugin uses, so it wouldn't help.

(This feature was broken for most users in Zotero 4.0-4.0.2; it's fixed in 4.0.3, available now.) I'm afraid I've misunderstood the aim of this option. I thought it was designed to abbreviate the journal title in any case, regardingless of the "rele…

It's probably not the field codes, but the custom document properties that are screwed up. If you delete them, you should be able to add citations normally. To get to them in Word 2007+, follow these instructions.

Yes, we'll push 4.0.3 tonight.

This looks completely broken for non-beta users. It will be fixed in 4.0.3. For now, you could create a new boolean pref extensions.zotero.cite.automaticTitleAbbreviation and set it to true in about:config.

Any Intel Mac can run Mac OS X 10.6, including all MacBooks. Any MacBook built after January 21, 2009 can run the latest version, Mac OS X 10.8.

This will be fixed in the next update.

You have Zotero Standalone 3.0.3, which is very outdated. Ideally, you should upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 or later and install Zotero Standalone 4.0.1 from http://www.zotero.org/download/. If you can't upgrade Mac OS X, see https://forums.zotero.org/di…

The EZProxy code applies only to Zotero for Firefox.

Can you send the number that you get at the end of the process, instead of the message itself?

Zotero could theoretically run on OS X 10.6.0, but the Word plugin would crash because of this bug. Rather than let people run into this, I just set it to require 10.6.3. Is there a reason you're not running 10.6.8? It's a free upgrade from 10.6 (a…

The option appears only when a style that uses journal title abbreviations is selected. I'm hesitant to show the journal abbreviation grayed out for non-abbreviated styles because it might make the dialog run off the screen for people with netbooks…

(1) requires changing the database structure and sync architecture. We aren't ignoring this, but these are large-scale changes that didn't make it into Zotero 4, which we had to release now for compatibility with Firefox 20. (2) won't work reliably…

I've updated the translator to fix this issue. Zotero should automatically pull the updated translator within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can click the "Update now" button in the General pane of the Zotero preferences, and then restart your browser.

Zotero 4.0.1 is now available. Start a new discussion for any persisting issues.
