I am having the same problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 24.10: Zotero does not start; same error message. It worked perfectly before the upgrade. Reinstalling Zotero does not solve the issue. – Are there any solutions?

I am afraid that this is not possible. I think you can only set the "et al" language for all the citations within a specific Word document. In "Set document preferences" from the Jurism Word processor plugin, you can choose "Russian" or "English" et…

You could still use Juris-M for writing the localized titles into the database and sync it with zotero.org. The database will be compatible with the Zotero clients of other users. The localized fields will appear in the "Extra" field of the web libr…

The term "ibid" is defined in CSL to change to uppercase according to the context. In the "JM Indigo Book" style, the "ibid" term was manually changed to "id." Therefore it cannot switch to uppercase. It would be necessary to define "id." like "ibid…

Jurism has now been upgraded to match with Zotero 6. So no need to use the beta version mentioned above. Please find the current release here: https://juris-m.github.io/release/ Thank you so much, @fbennett!

As far as I know, native Zotero/CSL does not distinguish between main titles and subtitles (Jurism does, using title-main and title-sub). But you can use some basic rich text formatting directly in the title field: Enclose the words of the main titl…

Thank you for @sw2090 for starting this conversation about multilingual support. Juris-M is helping me a lot for writing articles in various European languages, because I often need to localize several fields in citations: Author names (EN: Aristotl…

DIRECTORY_LISTING.json is in the "juris-abbrevs" folder among the other .json files with the abbreviation lists. N.B. Every time this file gets automatically updated (currently not very often...), you will need to redo your manual changes.
-
Indeed, "Input from file" does not work, it seems. You can instead copy your .json file into the "juris-abbrevs" folder. Open the DIRECTORY_LISTING.json file there and add an entry for your .json file. Then you can find your personal list in the dro…

You need to give some more details. What exactly is the problem? For me, the abbreviation filter works. See documentation: https://juris-m.readthedocs.io/en/latest/abbrevs.html

Hi, I'm afraid that there is no easy solution with Zotero. At least the first issue we can solve with a quick edit of your citation style. You can sort the articles in our native language before all other items in your bibliography: 1. Write into t…

Thank you for providing me with more details on the settings. This setup should work in your case: 1. References in your Jurism database: (cf. https://juris-m.github.io/posts/2020-11-08-0.html#headline-field-language-settings) - Write the language …

I really think that, in your case, the issue is just your "Sorting" setting. Please see my comment above, point 1. And it is not only the Beuys item, but also the ‘A l’Étranger’ [Abroad]… item that is not in the correct sort order. This supports my …

I realized the same problem recently, but I managed to solve it in my case. Some hints: 1. First of all, make sure that the Jurism language settings are correct (Word processor integration: Set document preferences > Tab "Languages"). This is oft…

Yes, this is exactly what Jurism is made for. Unfortunately, the download link in https://juris-m.github.io/release/ is currently broken @fbennett In Zotero you can use the workaround with "original-title: ..." in the Extra field. You would need t…

I don't know if this solves this problem. Just for better distinguishing between the two applications: Juris-m creates a separate database in a separate folder, different from Zotero. Please find the folder path in the preferences: https://www.zote…

This issue keeps disturbing me when I am writing text into notes: 1. Start writing text into a note or into the notes field of an attached file. 2. When Zotero starts indexing an attached file or syncing the library, the text written during this pro…

There are actually two workarounds: 1. You can disable the spellchecker as @Gracile explained above, see also https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/19771. 2. You can load a different dictionary @lo.ja

No, I don't see this in Zotero 5.0.71. It seems to be o.k. now. Thank you!

I can reproduce this with a new, empty ODT document: 1. Insert three footnotes with the same citation each (with Add/Edit button, not copy/paste, of course!). Chicago or similar full-note styles. Now in the first two footnotes there are full citatio…
