I should have said, this is the desktop version, 6.0.30. And I checked I had plenty of memory available. Thanks Matthew, that's interesting. I don't use the built-in PDF reader, incidentally, but I appreciate you mention it due to the way Zotero ha…

As usual Adam, thanks a lot. I didn't know I could do that and it works fine.

I agree that it would be good if we could drag items to re-order them. Would this be a major re-write problem? It would, for instance, be nice to have the separate reports on excavations at Richborough (published 1926, 1928, 1930, 1949) together. A…

Excellent, and thanks.
-
Thank you! But normally the items come in separately and I need to add the tags that are appropriate. The idea of making tagging easier is welcome though. I spend nearly all my time tagging when I could be writing.
-
Yes, I have a saved Search called Tags_does not contain___TAGGED 181202. When I finish tagging an item I add a tag ___TAGGED which appears on the list as a purple square so I know I've tagged it, and of course it no longer appears in the Saved Sea…

Thought I'd given you this. Open Access article at https://intarch.ac.uk/journal/issue56/16/ . Check the italicisation, please. PFD here if preferred — https://intarch.ac.uk/journal/issue56/16/ia.56.16.pdf Ballard, J.G. 1964 The Terminal Beach, Lo…

Any progress with this, please?

Hi — there's a free online PDF OCR site here (up to 100MB) — https://www.ocr2edit.com/create-searchable-pdf

I normally use Foxit Reader. CTRL-A to select all is pretty well instantaneous; CTRL-C to copy it all takes 12 seconds ('Late antique and early Medieval Hispania: landscapes without strategy?'; 99,000 words) which is entirely acceptable. This is a…

Thank you! This is an amazingly useful add-on. I will use it for translating archaeological reports. Some of my translators are not available, including Microsoft, and DeepL, which I prefer. They are marked with asterisks. Is there any way to get th…

It's not unusual for me (a Windows user) to have to shut down an instance of Zotero in Task Manager before I can open another. Don't ask me the circumstances: I just do it.
-
I agree with the View comments, except that i would suggest that the toggle should be 'Full page width' and 'Full page height' (I prefer viewing the second way where possible).

Just realised we’re talking about different things. My apologies.
-
I don’t have Zotero handy - I use the desktop version - but surely that is available? I like to use it sometimes too, eg. to point out an author’s mistake rather than a point of interest.

Thanks guys.

I have now simply copied the Zotero folder elsewhere as a backup — simple but effective. Choosing a different drive, with the shortest path possible, made no difference. I read that the developers recognise that Export-Import can be problematical a…

And again this morning: after shutting down the machine overnight, then doing a registry check, failed on 2459 items like last time (but failed on 2793 items before).
-
Thanks paanvaand - I've only just seen this. Now I've got it working the other way, that works, but good to know.

Tried exporting to the main disc instead of a USB backup - failed on 2459 items. Debug submitted, No. D1087545208

OK, it's 12 minutes now and there's been no message, so I assume all is well.

I am now running Check Database Integrity

Thanks. It's no big deal but of course it's nice to know it's not me!
-
I know it's only a few pixels but there's a gap to the left and between the Zotero window and the taskbar.
-
Perhaps I should expand: when I resize the Zotero window, Windows 10 remembers the top and right side positions, but not the left and bottom. I can resize it to the left side and bottom, but Zotero won't reopen to those positions - it always leaves …

dstillman - you are consistently helpful, often in spite of inadequate information in the question/complaint. Thanks, it's much appreciated! David

Changing the Search mode or pressing Escape doesn't seem to do anything - the progress icon continues to turn and if I select a different mode there's no indication that Zotero is actually searching differently. In some case I've ended up closing Z…

Incidentally, I think you've said before that Zotero is designed to (re)name files for me. But I like to have filenames that mean something, not just dbrear1999.pdf.
