Did disabling other extensions change anything? Try disabling any security software you have as well. There's really no reason this shouldn't work. If that doesn't help, could you: 1. Open Zotero extension preferences/options 2. Press F12 (or Cmd+…

We'll comment on the forum post once there's a solution, so you'll receive an email (although check your Notification Settings on the left sidebar here, to make sure they're enabled).

(You can also just refresh the page until it loads properly in Chrome, as the bug seems to be intermittent. Once again, sorry for not having a better solution right now.)
-
It appears to be a chrome bug. We'll try to get them to fix it and if there's no movement we'll look for a workaround. Sorry about that. Issue created. In the meantime you can use the Firefox Connector, which works properly for this page, but you w…

This is certainly fixed in Beta 186 onwards. What version of Zotero are you running? Can you provide a Report ID?

Translator detection doesn't run in frames for performance reasons. There are exceptions, but this does not apply to generic translators such as COinS. (Using a frame-based navigation is also considered very old-school and wrong in a thousand ways…

For the record, we have not updated the .xpi that you are linking to, so it may be by luck that you are not getting the crash in some other environment. Also, this only affects Linux.
-
@Thibaultyann You are certainly running an outdated version of Zotero Standalone, so the first thing to try would be updating to the latest version.
-
An updated version of the Beta is out which should have fixed this.
-
You are running an outdated version of Firefox (48), which is neither the current stable release (53), nor the long-term support (45). Begin by updating it.
-
Sorry about that. We will push out an updated version of beta in the next 24 hours fixing the bug.
-
The extension is having a hard time dealing with the "&" symbol in "Office & Productivity". The short fix for now is to change that to "Office and Productivity", but there is going to be a proper fix sometime down the line.
-
I've created a ticket, but no timeline for this yet.
-
Begin by resetting translators in the Safari Connector preferences (accessible by right clicking on a page and selecting "Zotero Preferences").

The bugfix is out now in beta.185

The bugfix for this is out in beta.185.

There's a fix out for the crashing in Zotero 5.0 Beta. Read the forum post as there might be some caveats to the upgrade.
-
Beta.185 will be out shortly with a bugfix for the crashing. Let us know if it's still happening. Edit: This is with Zotero 5.0 Beta, which you will have to upgrade to to see the fix. Read the forum post as there might be some caveats to the upgrad…

The bugfix for the crashing and the error you are seeing currently should be out shortly with beta.185. Thanks for leading us on onto a way to reproduce this bug!

@LiborA I don't think JaasonGeerts can send the Debug ID, because his preferences page is broken. @JaasonGeerts What OS, version of Chrome and Extension? This is not a usual recommendation, but try reinstalling/updating chrome and Zotero Chrome ext…

Oh, sorry about that. That's a different bug that we are aware of and will fix shortly. Glad the crashing is gone, it's been bugging us for quite a while.
-
@Stunts could you download the updated .oxt file and install it over the existing Zotero extension in LibreOffice? This should fix the problem and if it does we will release it shortly to the general public.
-
Ah, we were looking for the cause of this in another thread, but this isolates it. Thanks, we'll look for the fix.

Could you follow #8 of these instructions and send in the problematic citation? Otherwise, what is the error you get if you try to insert citations in a completely fresh document? Could you produce a Debug ID for inserting a citation in a completel…

I don't think I have had JRE enabled in LO for quite a while now, so maybe that is not related. The libreoffice Zotero plugin is Java based, so JRE is certainly involved. Also, is there any way to increase the logging verbosity? For LibreOffice there…

1. Open extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/preferences/preferences.html 2. Press F12 (or Cmd+Alt+I if on MacOS) 3. Developer tools will have popped up 4. Select the console tab 5. Take a screenshot/copy the contents of the console 6. Uploa…

There does not seem to be any communications from LibreOffice, to Zotero in this debug output. What happens exactly when you press one of the Zotero buttons in libreoffice? If it helps to explain take a screenshot, upload it somewhere and post a lin…

Well, after testing I can confirm to you that this is equally as broken in 4.0, unfortunately. Might have something to do with JRE or LibreOffice updates, but there have been various reports of libreoffice crashing on linux intermittently for the pa…

Are you sure it doesn't work at all in a completely fresh document? If not, please provide a Debug ID for an insertion operation in a fresh document.

Sorry for no response. I was actually looking into this and then some other things cropped up and I forgot to update. Seems to be related to unicode characters in the citation text. An update is coming shortly, but for the time being the ridiculou…
