You should upgrade to Zotero 5.0, which has better overall support for Word for Mac. Zotero.dot sometimes fails to load in Word 2016 on Mac, but we never managed to reproduce it, or pin-point the reason. The updated template in Zotero 5.0 appears to…

If you go into the connector preferences, does it say that Zotero is available? What is the URL of the website you are trying to save?
-
We are not aware of any compatibility issues with word processors after moving to 5.0
-
Firefox ESR 45 is no longer supported by Mozilla or Zotero. You'll need to update to ESR 52.
-
That's supposed to work in the connectors, but let us know if it doesn't. That part of the code is a bit.. rusty. Last time I looked I could not find a valid example where it is used.
-
This is something to take up to pubmed. Zotero is just processing the feed as it comes from the source.
-
There's an error in Windows 10 that we have been unable to reproduce ourselves, but people report that running Zotero (or both Zotero and Word) as Administrator helps.
-
What happens when you press Zotero buttons in LibreOffice?
-
There currently is a small delay between typing a character and the search executing, but we're hoping to improve the citation interface and search behaviour some time in not-too-distant future.
-
Could you submit a Report ID?
-
Seems like the Zotero provided error message diacritics are fine. They're messed up in the crash trace, but that's not really intended for non-developer reading (and in fact, personally annoying for me as a developer too -- these come from the under…

We will need more details: https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_problems

One thing to try is to ask on Adblock Plus forums. There will not be a workaround from Zotero for this and there is no reason why Adblock Plus should block extension requests to localhost.
-
We are aware of this and of a way to fix it, however it's fairly involved in Zotero's case, which is why it has not been done yet. (We'd have to switch to chrome.storage instead of localStorage, which only provides an async API, whereas localStora…

Right, so there is a bug in MacOS which prevents dialogs from displaying and it appears that LibreOffice freezes. That said, it seems that you have selected a citation style that does not define bibliography, which is what LibreOffice is trying (and…
-
Could you produce a Debug ID for pressing the button and then ESC?
-
If you press ESC does it unfreeze?
-
How many citations in this document? Does it work well in a new doc? In general you should allow it some time if there are many citations in the bibliography.
-
Ok, yeah, that's most likely the admin issue. Try running Zotero as Administrator and see if that fixes it.
-
@psabou if Zotero works fine in a new Word document, then it's a separate issue, most likely fixed using the troubleshooting broken documents steps. If you still cannot get it to work in your existing document, but it works fine in a new Word docume…

The story is kinda complicated due to a bug in 2016 which sometimes makes the .dot file not work and we have not found a way to replicate the bug on our end to troubleshoot it, but there have been reports. 1. Zotero.dot has been updated a couple of…
-
Actually, that won't work, since you've assigned a custom startup directory (which is generally unrecommended). Instead, can you remove Zotero.dot and replace it with this Zotero.dotm file?
-
Oh wait. Did you copy the Zotero.dot file into the startup directory manually? Can you remove it, then go into Standalone Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processor Integration and reinstall the word integration, then try Word 2016 again?
-
This is a known issue, fixed in Zotero 5.0 to be released soon. You can get the 5.0 Beta, or just download the patched LibreOffice Zotero Plugin and install it into LibreOffice directly.
-
What is the link in the mail message that causes this behaviour? That's fine, I can reproduce on MacOS (not on Linux). Issue created, I'll get around to this some time soon.
-
Either way, you should submit a Debug ID for attempting a citation insert in a new document, which will give us more detailed info about what's going on.
-
Seems like your Zotero for Firefox does not have the word plugin installed. Could you produce the Debug ID again, except with Standalone while Firefox is closed?
-
@Scarifier could you submit a Debug ID for startup? You will need to check "Enable after restart" under Debug Output Logging in preferences, restart Zotero, attempt an operation from Word 2016, then submit the Debug Log and post the ID here.
-
@zuphilip whoops, tested on a development version. Seems to work fine with the current release.

Please be careful about creating multiple threads. You should make sure that AdBlock Plus does not block connections to http://localhost and http://127.0.0.1/.
