You will have to thoroughly follow the step 8 of the troubleshooting instructions. I.e. cut the document in halves until you can insert citations. There is no automated way to fix the issue if you've followed all the steps up to 8.

You are using the Insider version of Word, so you should either report these issues to Microsoft or downgrade to the stable 15.41 release.

You should ensure that Macros are not disabled for Add-ins in Word. In Word Options go to the Trust Centre and check the macro options under Add-ins.
