Make sure you wait until the page is fully loaded before you click the Zotero connector button. Otherwise see Troubleshooting Issues with Zotero Translators

If you open Zotero.dotm in Word do you get the Zotero tab in the ribbon (you might need to allow Macros to run if the notification bar shows up)
-
You'll have to say more about what you did and where you got stuck in the troubleshooting instructions: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#windows E.g. does Zotero.dotm show up and is checked under Word Add-ins?

@iadatto Just to confirm what exact version of Mojave are you running?

We have not made any recent changes to the Zotero Word plugin that could break One Drive integration, certainly not intentionally. Please see ourforum guidelines. Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero? 1. In the Zotero Help menu, go to Debug Ou…

It is a Mojave issue. The OS is supposed to display the prompt to request permissions when Zotero tries to control Word, or when running this script from the terminal. Instead it is instantly denying them. You can try creating a new user account on …

Google Docs does not support endnotes, only footnotes, and likely never will. There's currently no way to export a Google Doc to Word.

This is not related to Zotero updates, but Word or Windows updates could have affected it. We have pushed an update to Zotero Beta which should fix the issue, if you want to try that.

Make sure the file is saved on your local hard drive, not on OneDrive and auto-saving is disabled.

Check under Zotero Connector Preferences -> Advanced whether the Google Docs integration is enabled. It should be by default.

Zotero Word for Mac Integration (3.5.14.r10158, extension) You seem to have installed the Word plugin version for Zotero for Firefox, which has been discontinued a while ago. You need to go into Zotero Tools -> Add-ins and remove the Word for Mac…

Yes, large documents like this should work without issues, although somewhat dramatic slowing down with size is expected due to the online nature of Google Docs itself. However, the slowdown should be smaller in the future too, up to a certain limit…

Ok, so I took a look at this document and I'm afraid I do not have very good news for you. A lot of the slowness you are seeing is just the slowness of having a document this huge. Just loading it in the browser takes a while and Google's document s…

I am not sure whether the use of Paperpile could have negatively affected the update times, but it is not out of the question. The update times stay fairly consistent even in documents with upwards of 200 citations in our tests. What citation style …

How long did it used to take to add references before you ran into this issue? Is adding references right now completely impossible? Are you using any other google docs extensions, such as ones that help generate a table of references or similar?

Could you submit a Report ID from the Zotero Connector?

So after playing around with the Word Processors Zotero supports, having an author-only cite be a an active Field is a step that will inevitably lead to problems in support. When storing cites as Bookmarks in Word and LibreOffice you are unable to r…

Check if you have any pending macOS updates first. If it doesn't work after updating or if you have no updates open a new document in Word, then open the Terminal application, paste osascript -e 'tell application "Microsoft Word" to insert text "he…

I'm not sure what the problem that you're facing is. Could you send the problematic snippet of the document to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
Start by restarting your computer. If that doesn't help (this is not usually the advice we give), try downloading Zotero again and put it under /Applications with a different name, like Zotero_test.app. Restart Word, start the Zotero app with a diff…

What citation style are you using? Did you get duplicates of in-text citations, or just the bibliography?
-
Did you update Word recently? You should go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin. Otherwise see if Track Changes is enabled and accept all changes if it is are.

@BrandyM Please create a new thread on the forums when your issue is not directly related to the existing discussion. The plugin is part of the Zotero Connector, see https://www.zotero.org/download and https://www.zotero.org/support/google_docs
