Yeah, sorry about that. We had another user report this about half a year ago, but we cannot reproduce it on our systems by changing the system language to Chinese, so we cannot debug or fix it.
-
Does it work if you change your system language to English?
-
Could you submit another Report ID after this?
-
Could you restart your computer, then open Zotero, a new document in Word and confirm that you cannot insert a citation. Does it happen regardless of the item that you try to insert? Do you have any other plugins in Word?
-
Is this file saved on OneDrive? That might be the reason for the error, filenames with spaces don't work for some OneDrive users, but we have not been able to fix that yet.
-
Could you submit a Report ID from Zotero after getting the document with the broken filename?
-
Is it slow when inserting in a new document? Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero? 1. In the Zotero Help menu, go to Debug Output Logging and select Enable. 2. Perform the citation insertion in a document where the search is slow. 3. Before doi…

There are more than 4 steps on that page. Copying text and documents is invalid I'm not sure what you mean here. Could you elaborate?

Did you try the steps at Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents? What happened for each?

Sorry for the trouble. There's no reason to spend more time on trying to fix a document beyond trying the troubleshooting instructions, feel free to post here and we'll try to help. Could you take step 10 of Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor …

Please follow other troubleshooting steps in this thread and report what you get for each.

@SHOrozco The error is not likely M1 related. Did you try reinstalling the plugin from Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors? If not, have you tried the Zotero Beta?

Any information might help, but do note that at the sizes of the document you are working on we may have limited ability to help or fix it. If you're seeing LibreOffice crash randomly, there's very little we can do or debug, we can only suggest work…

At this point I am not sure what the problem is. Do you have to force quit Zotero, LibreOffice, or both? The log doesn't have anything to explain any freezing. Zotero issues a command to LibreOffice (which at that point is over 3000th command in the…

The document contains nearly 1000 citations. There's nothing obvious in the debug log you sent us that went wrong and I cannot chalk this off to anything else other than Java or LibreOffice instability. Your best bet is to split this document up int…

Thanks for the additional info, I'll do some further testing, but I haven't managed to reproduce it so far. You don't need to make the case for the feature. It's already there because we know it's valuable and it should work properly. It is quite n…

What version of Word are you running on the Desktop PC? Does this only happen if you edit the bibliography manually? Do you just pick any reference in the bibliography and append some text or do you do something more? Did you find any way to get th…

To shed some light on what happens when Zotero inserts the bibliography, it is actually using a procedure equal to using Insert -> Text -> Text from File (https://imgur.com/zduZDym) and inserting a RTF file. There isn't really a better way to …

Multiple issues here, one of them being that an Alert that Zotero is trying to display in LibreOffice is not working. Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero for the action that causes the error?
-
Yes, you need to download Zotero on your computer for citing with Google Docs to work. Troubleshoot this by restarting both the browser and Zotero. Again attempt to cite with Google Docs. If no window appears make sure you look through open Zotero w…

Zotero will not add citations to an existing bibliography written by hand or created with another citing software. If you want to use Zotero for an existing document with hand-written citations you will have to re-do them with Zotero, otherwise you …

Thanks for your help. We have a fix out for the Zotero Connector Beta, which is available for Firefox, but from what you wrote it seems like it works correctly on Firefox already. We'll release the fix with the stable Connector soon and update you h…

If you go into Zotero Document Preferences are you using ReferenceMarks or Bookmarks to store citations? If it is Bookmarks, you should switch to ReferenceMarks, because Bookmarks are prone to exactly the type of corruption you are describing. If it…

Ok, for the last test, could you highlight a few words in a google doc (by dragging the cursor over it) and perform the above operation again?

Could you open the developer tool console again, paste in Array.from(document.querySelector('.docs-texteventtarget-iframe').contentDocument.childNodes).map(c => c.innerHTML).join('') and press [Enter] then send the result of the command to suppo…

If you open developer tools in Chrome (Tools -> Developer Tools) and open the Console tab do you see any errors after attempting to cite with Zotero?
