@CeciliaThirlway your issue is not related to the one on this thread. Make sure you are running Zotero not from the image file, but you have dragged it into /Applications. So restart Zotero and make sure you run /Applications/Zotero.app.
-
Where is Word installed on your Mac? Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero for a citing attempt?
-
Can you reproduce the issue in a new document? If not, see Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents.

The old macros are still around for compatibility reasons for users like you who would have set up those shortcuts a long time ago, but it's been nearly 5 years since the official plugin has stopped using them and it's probably time to simply remove…

Unless you have problems with Zotero functionality you can ignore these. If you do have problems, describe in detail what they are.
-
Restart your browser and Zotero and try inserting in a new document. Make sure you switch to Zotero to see if any dialogs appeared if they are not shown automatically. If it works try again in your existing document. If it fails in the existing docu…

You can still transfer your original google docs file into Word while maintaining Zotero citations, then use the Word compare documents feature to merge your current version with the old gdocs one. Otherwise you'll have to reinsert all those citatio…
-
Can you describe the precise steps that you take and what happens at each one? Have you both tried restarting your browsers and Zotero?
-
No. Make sure the document you are trying to edit is not stored on OneDrive and if it is, that the name does not contain any spaces.
-
What citation style are you using? Make sure you update the Google Docs "Normal text" style to use the font that you want.

That means that Fedora has removed whatever dependencies were necessary for Firefox 60ESR. We are planning to upgrade to a later version of Firefox base, but it won't happen in the very near future, so you will have to figure out how to get that to …
-
Zotero is based on Firefox 60ESR, so you should make sure that works for you without issues.
-
Where did you install Zotero from? You should reinstall it by downloading from zotero.org/download . Where is Zotero installed at? You should install it in the default Program Files location.
-
You should try disabling other extensions in your browser, restart it and try again.

Seems like a metadata issue with WorldCat where Zotero pulls ISBN data from. @AbeJellinek or others might be able to say more.
-
Could you post the ISBN of the book?
-
Updating to the Beta is not risky for your database, although you won't be able to revert to the stable version unless you make a backup or resync via Zotero sync. It is also unlikely to address the issue in a permanent fashion. Does changing the la…

Unless you can figure out a way to reproduce the issue consistently we won't be able to fix this. I do recommend cleaning up any "{Citation}" text leftover from previous failed insertions from Zotero, which may cause some issues.
-
I have tested the document you have sent us and I managed to insert citations into it. Restart your computer and try again. If it still fails in that document, please provide the exact steps on how you're trying to insert the citation and how it fai…
-
Yes, that is correct, your citation data will be lost. You can change your citations to be saved as Bookmarks (in Zotero Document Preferences) and then save the document as .docx, but note that Bookmarks are quite prone to breaking when editing the …

Try installing the plugin manually https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_manual_installation

You should start by making sure you do not have Mendeley or other Word plugins installed. If it's not fixed then, please provide the full steps you take that are causing the crash.

What word editor are you using? Could you submit a Report ID from Zotero? Does it happen in a new document? Did you follow the troubleshooting steps?
-
You somehow got the Zotero Beta Word plugin installed. Go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin, then restart Word and try again.
-
Could @SimonSchwarzwald, @souvenir, or @dstark send a small snippet document where you can reproduce this problem to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread. Make sure you include your full Word version number too.

Ok, to start, the word "crash" is usually reserved for a program closing unexpectedly, either with or without an error message. If you get an error message but the program continues to work, that is considered receiving an error, the program "failin…
