I will uninstall the Firefox Add-on. I do have a question: is Zotero using the directory a) Zotero or b) Zotero\zotero I'm not sure which files I can delete. I didn't realise it would be able to sync. I thought all the settings were in the files…

I've just returned to the Zotero Standalone window and it is now re-downloading everything from the servers. Edit: I'm not really sure whether it downloaded everything from the servers or whether it just needed time to read the collection after mov…

I could not open the Zotero Add-on for Firefox because it'd been disabled due not being able to be "verified". Thus I could not find the folder it is directed to. So I removed the Add-on and added it again and now it's downloading everything from th…

Thanks for your time, Dan. I determined that the cause was the absence of part of the necessary path. For some reason, although https://webdav.cloudme.com/[username]/ is acceptable for some applications, Zotero needs https://webdav.cloudme.com/[user…

Hi Dan. The Debug ID is D111617700.

It would be useful if there was a way to make Zotero go back to the origin of all supported files and download the supplementary data if it doesn't already have a copy.
-
For files with the same name, couldn't they just be appended with a number or letter?
-
Oh, I see. Thanks.
-
It's working now. Thanks. Does that happen every time there's an update or was the update just a sort of work around?
-
You could, if wanted, have a separate prefix/suffix box that always prefixes or suffixes the first or last reference respectively?
-
I followed your instructions in your first post in this thread but there's no save button and the changes are lost.
-
I see. That was the problem. What sort of thing is it envisioned that a person would want to prefix? I know what things I prefix but I wonder if it's not what the feature was designed for? If I say, for example "blah blah blah primordial g…

Are there any author-date styles for which sorting is the automatic behaviour? I could not follow: "For old citations, I believe you will have to open them and maybe check or uncheck the little keep sources sorted box in the plugin for this to…

I thought that Harvard style citations were always supposed to be chronologically-ordered? In which case, can the style be update so that this is default behaviour?

+1 for drag = move, drag + ctrl = copy (this is what the cursor implies is happening with the '+')

It would have been helpful to state where the restore to library button was! I found it on the right of the record listing! I second the suggestion of enabling dragging items back to whichever collection. It's currently misleading in that it ap…

Hi. It's not that the option is absent from the menu - there is no menu whatsoever. It's the same on a Win 7 and a Win XP machine, Zoter0 2.1.6, FF 4.01.

Is the answer to this different in 2011? When I put "[Item Type] [is] [Attachment]" into the search box, no items are returned. Edit: Okay, I've discovered that if I click on 'advance search' (magnifying glass), then those are options. There is…

Okay, thanks. What if I want to say "in 2009, Smith et al..." without the brackets around 2009?

Hey, I don't know programming at all; I just searched online for "zotero android", came across this thread and wanted to register my interest!Would be useful and productive to be able to access my PDFs while stuck waiting somewhere.

+1 for indicating that one's request is in a queue. I came here thinking that my sync wasn't going to happen but I read this thread and waited, and it did indeed (it just took a few minutes of seemingly futile icon-spinning before it started).

Trying now, weeks later, to set up the WebDav syncing on my laptop, I am confronted with an error upon clicking verify: "SSL certificate error connecting to %S. Load your WebDAV URL in the browser for more information." Apparently, accordi…

You sure you changed "my_profile_name" in webdav.icloud.com/my_profile_name/xios/ to your actual username? I can't think of anything else... Failing that, box.net offers 1 GB free?
-
Is the drop-down menu in Zotero preferences set to HTTP or HTTPS? Apparently (I haven't checked), this service only works for HTTP.
-
Oh, well if Zotero creates the folder itself, then there's no need to create the folder manually. :D In that case, just enter webdav.icloud.com/my_profile_name/xios/ into Zotero (replacing my_profile_name) with your username and away you go.

I don't understand your question, asplundj... who suggested that you should manually copy the zotero folder?
-
Indeed, their interface is a bit confusing. I think they're trying to offer services (using applications on their servers?) beyond what MyDrive offered and they feel that this in-browser "virtual desktop" approach is the most appropriate. Edit:…

Why did you put the zotero folder inside the Documents folder? I'm trying to sync now, with my zotero folder at the same level as the Documents folder (which I think is the root-most level I can reach). It seems to be working (4% complete)...

According to my research, 'umask' is not a property that applies to the Windows operating systems so fixing it on my computer is not an option. Since Zotero is taking a copy of the PDF, it's surely much more useful to have it write-enabled.

After further investigation, I think I was mistaken. It seems the files were already read-only before being copied. It would be nice if Zotero could strip these of the read-only attribute automatically though, since that was just how they were downl…
