I have had problems implementing book chapters in COinS too — the concept of editor is missing. (Previous thread.)

If you have access, the relevant bit of HTML looks like this: FULL TEXT HTML FULL TEXT PDF

Okay, fair enough. My main goal, just so you know where I'm coming from, was to solve the problem that Group libraries used for collaboration are more transient than personal libraries. So we need ways to easily copy all new stuff (but not duplica…

@adamsmith, here's the stable URL: http://psycnet.apa.org/journals/xge/139/4/743.html It looks like this might be an easy translator to write/adapt: the PDF is available as a direct link, in this case http://psycnet.apa.org/journals/xge/139/4/743.…

That link is tied to your search session. Can you give one that will work for us, or tell us the title or DOI of the article?
-
(BTW, a technical note: I see that even the underlying HTML markup on the group homepage does not distinguish between attachments, notes, and top-level items, all crucial distinctions in the Zotero conceptual universe. Without such basic distinction…

Good to hear that they are read and considered. I think it would definitely help if you would at least respond to detailed proposals and give a hint of how you consider them and what you think you can do with them, because the general activity in th…

First a general point: I doubt that mimicking the client to that level of detail is the most useful model here. The good thing about a web-based interface is that you have the freedom to adopt it to what best suits the medium and the anticipated use…

An optionally displayable column "Exists locally", with a checkmark for items that exist locally.

It solves proposal 1 mostly but not fully. I had already seen that usually the ordering of libraries goes alright, but it remains fairly easy to cite from non-preferred libraries. That why I thought some kind of warning would be good. I fully suppo…

Very sensible proposal. This would solve persistent problems that I am having while working on a collaborative project with group libraries.
-
Can I draw your attention again though to the dubious "feature" that caused this in the first place: the fact that there is still no option to disable the automatic copying of tags to group libraries? I can understand why you'd maybe want to copy th…

You do, because citations refer to items, not notes. When inserting a citation, you'll see a field where you can enter the page you want to cite. I often have Zotero (or a PDF) open besides Word so that I can remember which page I'm citing from.
-
Another bump, prompted by this.

(****, I had a déja vu, and indeed, I have submitted this problem, and a similar proposal, before. Back then Dan Stillman said "this is just a bug". Well please fix it — it's been biting me again!) (And note that it is hard to notice. You might del…

@Dan, glad to hear that. Hoping to hear further details about this from other devs. I am seriously using Zotero Groups in a handful of projects now and we run into these limitations quite often, as when people inadvertently delete items or attachm…

FYI, here's a thread in which the virtues and vices of the current duplication detection mechanism(s) are discussed.

Thanks. I know time is not on our side and I have learned to be patient, or at least more patient than I used to be. I also know and appreciate that several of my suggestions have made it into Zotero over the years. On this specific point, I have al…

For the benefit of others, I did discover a Firefox setting to enable the auto-updating at least addons. I will recommend our technical support to at least switch on that one. Firefox Options > Advanced > Update > "Automatically update" ch…

Yeah, that's why I mentioned "office pc"... this is my work PC which doesn't autoupdate and I can't update myself.

Can anyone which trac or dev-list knowledge enlighten me on whether things are moving on this front? Has this proposal been considered, used, improved, superceded, judged redundant, found useless, ignored? (I apologize for being a forum-only user,…

Updated, solves problem. The plugin hadn't been auto-updating (Firefox 10.0.1, office pc). I'll suggest the version number display in another thread, because integration with Zotero is close enough for the user to expect to find this within Zotero…

Nope, that was 3.1.5... and Word 2010 14.0.5128.5000 (32-bit) This surprises me: * is there no auto-updating of this plugin with Zotero? * is there no way to quickly lookup version number of Word plugin in either Word (set doc prefs menu?) or Zoter…

Well good luck! And inserting the bibliography in any of these subdocuments does what? Insert the full bibliography, or only for references cited in that subdocument?
-
Yes, Zotero is probably the right software for you. It can do most of the things you want it to do. Please start by reading the quick start guide. Most of the questions you're asking are answered right there.
-
There is a fairly detailed proposal on roles for groups here but so far I haven't seen developers weigh in on the issue in any detail. Clearly many users are hoping for more sophisticated collaboration options.
-
I like this. It's sensible, I've found myself wanting it, and I've seen a lot of threads about the non-persistency of search in the forums. Proposal: Perhaps a cheap (i.e. quick) way to get some functionality towards this is to make quicksearch per…

Thanks Gracile! Looking forward to see this sometime in the future...

UI-wise, the right panel is what should be used, and for basic counts, the code is already there. Right now the Z does a count if you select all -- why could it not do the same when you select none? That is what I suggested in this thread. This Git…

I've documented a second quirk and changed the topic title accordingly to keep everything in one place.
