I have also tried to replicate the original problem by adding lone-PDF items to my Zotero library from iOS, but they all keep syncing correctly now. So unfortunately I cannot figure out a way to replicate the original problem anymore.

> when you refer to "Zotero iOS" and "iOS", which one is iPad and iPhone? In my comment, whenever I say "iOS", I always mean from my iPhone. When I am talking about the iPad, I say "iPadOS". (So: In my comment I was always adding items to the l…

Possibly related to this earlier bug I raised, which has been fixed. (The app never crashes anymore, just hangs.) https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/100137/crashing-when-selecting-local-storage-from-settings-menu#latest

@dstillman, would that Recently Read collection be down next to duplicate items? Still very interested in that feature :)

Sorry, I can't test this stuff because the issue mysteriously (to me) stopped happening. I was waiting to reply to your post until it happened again, but it hasn't yet after 2 weeks. This issue has re-occurred spontaneously over the past ~6 months…

Woah, I just used the iPad annotations for the first time in a few months and the improvements are great! Thank you! It finally feels like I'm living the electronic notepad dream that has been part of product demos for a couple decades but never s…

jeremyvancleve: Note that, per dstillman's comment on March 23, this might be a purposeful improvement: if the ability to download all files has not yet been implemented, then it's best if that command is removed from the menu until the feature is r…

Also, a few of my collections don't have an option to "download attachments", and I don't know why. It's just missing from the long-press menu.
-
In case this slipped through the cracks, let me note that the "download attachments" command in the long-press menu works on all normal collections but still does not work on "All Items". For that it still just silently does nothing, which is a bit …

Not beta. Zotero 1.0.3 Build 5 on iPasOS 15.6.1. Thanks.
-
Update: Still having this problem on latest version of Zotero for iPad.
-
Yes, also appears to be fixed for me on 6.0.5-beta.4+c9b39675b. Thank you!

@adomasven I just restarted my computer and the problem persists.
-
No, I don't need to switch tabs twice for it to happen. The thing that matters is whether the PDF has fully loaded at the time I switch to the PDF tab and back to the library. If the PDF has loaded, then the column will be re-sized when I go back …
-
@adomasven Yes it does. In the video, I adjust the year column (far left) to be very narrow so that the 4-digit year is not fully visible (0:30 - 0:35). I switch to a PDF tab and back to the library a first time, but the column width hasn’t changed …

I can't shut down my computer right now because a bunch of jobs are running, but I made a video showcasing the bug. Unfortunately, it's nearly a minute long (and hence large at 42 MB) because Zotero is taking a long time to start up. But here it i…

I just upgraded to 6.0.5-beta.2+c510d9146 but this problem persists for me. (When I go to "Check for updates" after installing this version, it says "No updates found", so I think I'm up to date.)
-
I had same experience as samdiener upgrading to 6.0.5-beta.2+c510d9146.

Yep, I can see the popup formatting options. (I still think it would be more consistent with convention to put these option in the Edit menu.) Just to be clear, what I have described able is not exclusively a keyboard shortcut issue. I am unable …

It occurs to me that an alternative way to address this issue is to change the appearance of the cursor to make it clear, when in "Add Note mode", that clicking will add a note. This could be by adding a tiny note-shaped icon to the cursor. This w…

I am on iPadOS 15.4, on a 12.9 inch iPad Pro, 4th generation.

Yikes, embarrassing! OK, thanks very much for your rapid response.

@dstillman Here is my workflow: I annotate a PDF with comments and highlighting from the Zotero PDF viewer on desktop. If I right-click on the PDF attachment (from the main Zotero pane) and select "show file", I can copy-paste the PDF file to send …

Zotero for iPad now available, so this is no longer an issue. Hope you like it as much as I do, tcngraham :)
-
@dstillman got it, thanks. As you probably know, after one selects a library one can long-tap on "all items" and there is a "download attachments" option, which seems like it should download all attachments for all items in the library. However, co…

Oy, silly mistake by me. ar5iv is latex-to-HTML, not PDF-to-HTML. So the only realistic option would be just fetching HTML versions from repositories like arXiv for which papers are known to have pre-made HTML version. That would still be very us…

Very glad to see this implemented with the exit from beta. Thank you. Fwiw, discovery of this ability by the user is nearly impossible. I spent 5 minutes rooting around in the settings very confused why there was no "download all attachments" o…

Ahh, good thought. I just checked by making a couple test comments. As you suspected, the smaller ones are MacOS and the larger ones are iOS. Is this purposeful?
-
(Note that I am not talking about the "mini" sticky-note icons that are used to indicate that a piece of highlighted test has a comment attached. I am talking about the two distinct sizes of stand-alone comments.)

tcngrahan, there is now no reason to use PaperShip. Zotero iOS Beta now has (to my knowledge) all of its features plus several more, and is significantly more reliable. PaperShip is abandoned, and Zotero iOS Beta is soon going to move out of beta. …
