Sort annotations by date

I have some books with lots of annotations spanning over a range of years. It would be nice if I could sort them by creation/modification date in the side tab, so that I can see what I annotated recently. Do annotations contain timestamps in the database?
  • Ok, I see now that they do contain timestamps, which can be seen from hovering over the annotations. Great. Then, hopefully, sorting by date should not be too much effort?
  • I also need this feature. Sorting or filtering annotations by date would be a great help.
  • any solution for this?
  • I would also love this feature. I use annotations as bookmarks, and often I’m interested in which bookmarks I created most recently.

This is now available via the Weavero plugin: https://github.com/mjthoraval/Weavero

The reader's Annotations tab can be sorted by position (current sorting), date added, or date modified in either direction — right-click the Annotations tab header for the menu, and a one-click sort bar appears while a non-default sort is active. While sorting by date, each annotation card also shows its date directly (time-only for today's, full timestamp on hover), so recent annotations are visible at a glance rather than one hover at a time.

There's also date filtering from the filter above the Reader: independent "Added" and "Modified" ranges — rolling windows like "last 2 days" or a custom calendar range — with Alt+click to exclude a range.

Welcome to provide feedback through the Weavero GitHub issues.
