Cannot close the details of the items in Zotero initial view

When I first open Zotero I see only the items, as it used to be. Now, when I do a search, I get all items showing their details, ie. the pdf under the title in the main window. This becomes very difficult to read. I am sorry I could not find a HELP feature showing me how to avoid this. Many thanks!
