Cannot close the details of the items in Zotero initial view

When I first open Zotero I see only the items, as it used to be. Now, when I do a search, I get all items showing their details, ie. the pdf under the title in the main window. This becomes very difficult to read. I am sorry I could not find a HELP feature showing me how to avoid this. Many thanks!

If this is about Quick Search, use the "Title, Creator, Year" mode. See here:

Advanced Search provides a "Show only top-level items" option.

Indeed you are correct. Many thanks for the quick response. All solved. I had not noticed there were options there (sorry!)
