Zotero is unable to update

Recently (this week) my Zotero Standalone is unable to update. It automatically checks for updates and tells me the new version. At this point I only need to click on "Update" and put admin password to update it.

But now it doesn't require for an admin password and simply cannot update.

"Unable to Update"

"A recommended update is available, but you do not have permission to install it. To update automatically, modify the Zotero program directory to be writable by your user account."
...

I think this should have been unnecessary, right? Zotero could have asked for UAC to get permission.
