I have released a plugin to detect and manage duplicate items when importing new items.
You will be warned when the new imported item has existed in your library. You can decide to save the new or existing items, or, you can merge them manually.
@chenglongma: as far as I can tell, your plugin only starts working _after_ one has imported a (potentially duplicate) item using the browser plugin. It does not enable to see that you already have an item as soon as you open the corresponding website (like the other existing solution I previously mentioned does). Is that correct?
Hi @hrald, yes, you are right, but the function you mentioned is wonderful! It is my initial plan as well. However, Zotero Connector has slower update iterations than Zotero. Then, I implemented the current version.
Maybe I can develop a new browser plugin built on top of Zotero APIs.

The plugin supports Zotero 6 and 7.

Thanks for your idea.
