Upgrade Storage[Plugin for Zotero 10] See PDF, JPG, DOCX and other attachment formats directly in your item list
Hi everyone,
I’d like to share Attachment Formats, a free, open-source plugin for Zotero 10. It adds an optional “Formats” column to the main item list, so you can see the file types attached to each item without opening or expanding items one by one.
This is especially useful in a large library. A title alone may not tell you whether an item has a PDF, a JPG image, a Word document, several different files, or no file attachment. For example, an item with two PDFs and one JPG displays “PDF (2), JPG”. The number counts files, not pages.

Those discussions did not request this exact plugin, but they show why being able to identify attachment types at a glance can help. Attachment Formats provides one approach through a separate, optional column; it does not change Zotero’s built-in columns or rename attachment titles.
Download version 0.1.6 for Zotero 10:

On that page, download the file named attachment-formats-0.1.6.xpi — not the automatically generated source-code ZIP. In Zotero, go to Tools → Plugins → gear icon → Install Plugin From File. Then right-click the item-list column headers and enable “Formats” (or its translated label).

The plugin only displays file-format information. It does not modify your library items, attachments or citations. English is the default interface language, with column-label translations for 16 additional languages. Version 0.1.6 has been installed successfully in Zotero 10.0.3; newer Zotero versions have not yet been tested.
