  • Hell of a long Beta, but glad it's finally out!
  • at long last, thank you!!!
  • Thank you for this.

Are there plans to expand the settings in Zotero for Android for various configurations as in Windows?
  • First, YAY!!!!! Thank you.
And a question: I used to use the Zoo for Zotero android app and the mobile browser extension (haven't in the last two years, tho). Would you be able to tell a bit about the differences in functionality between the two apps?
  • fantastic work - that was a big missing piece of the puzzle:) Big thanks to the team!
  • I love the Android version; I fully tested it today.
Many thanks for your efforts on the launch of that life-changing version!
  • @dstillman does the Android app support syncing using WebDAV? I am using Infini-Cloud for WebDAV, which works on my Windows. However, on the Android app, I can not find any option to sync using WebDAV.
  • @tasrif-khondaker -- yes it does. You can select Webdav for file sync in My Library in the account settings in Android (the gear icon at the top right of the 'Libraries' screen)
  • Thank you, I was in beta testing mode. Really, great achievements. More success comes from you always.
  • Thanks @adamsmith, it is working without any issue! The interface is a bit different, which makes it harder to navigate to the settings menu!
  • Very excited to discover yesterday that this has finally been released - it's been eagerly anticipated for a long time in this corner of UK academia. Using it for the first time I thought about how much I like Zotero as a product: open source, configurable, extensible, works with a webDAV server, does exactly what I need and nothing more, and not constantly updated with pointless bells and whistles to sucker me into a subscription. It's one of the few software applications I use absolutely every working day, and I'm really glad it's there. Thanks for the effort that went into it.
  • Agree, 1000% [sic]
  • Echo the sentiments expressed by @bmhj. Amazing to see this getting released. A huge thank you to the team!
  • @dstillman Any news on the APK?

I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro, and my experience with the mobile app has been so-so. I have thousands of items and attachments in my Zotero library, and the app is prone to crashing and slow-down. I am wondering if iPhone users report the same issue. If not, I may seriously consider getting an iPhone...
  • signsinthedust Please provide detailed descriptions of when issues appear and if the app is crashing then you should be getting a message within the app with the DebugID on next app start. Please also provide it.

Thanks so much for all your work on this! Just by chance I did a search for it this week, and there it was, finally! Yay!

I've seen several people mention annotations, and seemingly not have found that - I did, but it was through trial and error. Once you have a document in view, it's the little icon that looks like a squiggly-pencil at the top of the screen - right in the middle of the icons. Pops open a toolbar so you can choose the type of annotation you want to make.

For me, the mystery is how to create a stand-alone note from the Android ap. But I will go and put that in a separate post, as requested, so it is not buried here.- NEVERMIND -I FOUND IT! Little +sign up at the top in the center, near the collection name. :)

Really just in here to say how much I appreciate all of your work, you Zotero developers. Great stuff!!!
  • I would like to endorse the suggestion by @atmair to release an apk file of this app on github. This would help people that use Obtanium a lot.
  • Great, thank you very much!
  • Another thank you from me. Works smoothly on both my devices.
